He would have to be since none of what he says applies to Everton right now does it?

So yeah, I disagree with his statement there as should anyone who has watched a single match with us being managed by him.

Yes because we have a carthorse squad that’s not able to play the way he had his best teams playing yet because he’s been here for half a season. That’s what he’s trying to work towards which is what he’s saying in his interview.

Gordon has high praise for Benitez for improving him as a player constantly.

Read an Interesting article which mentioned , how Everton youngesters and acedemy players listen keenly to Benitez, his ideas and tactical aspects of the game specially gordon and Braithwaite has taken up high interest and spend lot of time learning things from Benitez, whilst it was mentioned how senior players usually don't seem that interested.
Is that a possible reason we see Gordon and Braithwaite improving that rapidly and rest senior players still acting the same?

We have a squad that's a lot better than what he has got from them.

Everything else is excuses.

Digne has wanted out for over a year.

He is a high earner.

He's one of only few players we have that we can sell for any real money.

He has a terrible attitude.

He's been average for over a year.

His agent put it out there that he only cares about playing for France.

His Newcastle side were in top 7 form in the 2nd half of the season before he left. Almiron, Perez and Rondon were superb together. His defence and midfield battled hard.

Hi Mr Benitez, what you having for tea today you fat Wirral beaut?

Just saw his interview.

Really not sure how you can disagree with anything he’s said.

He’s hit the nail on the head if you read between the lines. Some players were putting themselves before the team, some players don’t really want to be here. He’s making decisions for the long term good of the club to instill a better mentality not to just do what’s been done before and finish a couple of places higher this season.

It’s patently obvious from what he’s saying that he hasn’t had the options in the squad to play exactly how he wants, and he’s had issues to solve. Everyone recognised this in previous seasons but as soon as Benitez was through the door there was a collective amnesia about how poor the squad was.

Carry on Benitez, drain the swamp.
The Trump of football managers?

How apt.

I’m loving the way he’s moved on from a very vague -“ It’ll all come good in the New Year “.

To, “ now it’ll come good at the end of January “

Comical Dave strikes again.

very reminiscent of his ‘we’ll be back in lockdown by the end of Summer shouts’.

Great Post Mrs. Barrett-Baxendale

If we lose to Hull in front of millions, there'll be a queue as long as your arm of RS/Rafael-loving media sycophants reminding us that the great manager needs time, the injuries are an issue, new players need to settle, more money needs to be spent, the players are rubbish etc etc. Will bet you wont hear a word spoken about the 1 win in a dozen games.
1 win 3 draws in 12 games. Yes. But does that negate the facts you mentioned. he did have massive injury probs almost all his best squad players, no budget to improve the squad, paper thin squad and some toxic fans at his back from the start. And it's still half season.

His best teams didn’t play like that either, he’s always been a dour negative manager, even carrafger said so the other night, he’s plays the football you endure as long as it gets results when it no longer gets results it gets tedious fast

Of course, the results must be better. But I think when you work with a manger over time who wants your best, and who is constantly working to improve you, but who also requires that the players are professional and willing to improve, then you will eventually achieve good results.
Sound logic, but half way through the season how many players have actually improved vs regressed? AG is getting better -maybe that's coaching, maybe it's just the natural development consequence of finally playing regularly- but there are not many others. Pickford is better, but is that Rafael's coaching or is that down to the psychologist he's been seeing since end of last season?

I don't think I can think of any others who've stepped up a level since last year, but I can think of a lot who've gone backwards. That's not because they're all unprofessional and unwilling to improve, that's down to the manager and his coaching.
