….surely a win is priority. Losing game after game will not be good for our efforts in the league. A cup run gives everybody a lift.
yes i agree with this, though, as cra p as Hull are.... this IS Everton....

One can only wonder....

Slow start to the first half, 2-0 down at half time. 2nd half rally to take it to 2-1. Hull see the rest of the game out.

Rinse and repeat.

….depressing isn’t it. Just always hope the FA Cup brings a little reprieve as it has in the past.
Shrewsbury, Millwall. QPR this season. We do have history for losing this kind of tie. However we also have history for winning plenty as well. Let's wait and see, could go either way for me, a lot depends on our attitude in the first half. Early goal for us and we can win comfortably, but we've struggled in the first half of games this season.

….we all know the reason why we struggle at the start of games yet we continue to adopt the same approach of allowing the opposition possession.

I don't have a problem with not playing possession football. I think it's overrated. However we lack coherence. If the plan is to nick the ball in the area just outside our box and break down the flanks before crossing it to the Centre Forward then we need to implement that plan far better than we have been. Currently we are defending aimlessly and hoofing it. Funnily enough we looked more composed against Chelsea, when a number of players carried the ball out from defence.

Problem is, to concede possession, you need to be solid in the midfield and defence. We look anything but.
