ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

The League cup semi final could be one leg though, at a neutral venue ala the FA Cup, I do agree with klopp on that one
Could be but shouldn't, nothing wrong with it the way it is.

Actually, the only thing wrong with the leagu cup currently is how disrespected it is by the scab 6 and other wannabes, who just CBA playing in it - I don't get why they don't just forfeit/not enter the comp, considering how much they can't stand it.

Who said football was a necessity? It’s pure escapism, and having so much football over the festive period allows people, including those in necessary professions, to take their minds off for a couple hours. You never heard of complaints back in the day when teams would play Christmas Day, then have the reverse fixture 24 hours later, same in the 80s and early part of the 90s, it’s only been since the PL has become more and more global that people have been complaining and demanding changes to a traditional period of the season
Comparing footballers with nurses and police officers certainly does imply that football is indeed a necessity.

That wasn't the point of your original post. You said "Our working hours doesn't cause a risk to our safety or health like it does with footballers." I have some surprising news for you. Yes it does. Turning out for three hours in the space of two days does not seem unreasonable. Career ending injuries are thankfully rare these days. They have access to top medical facilities and even if someone did sustain such an injury, being paid £7-8m a year even for a couple of previous years would not leave anybody in financial hardship. Unlike the rest of the mere mortals who put in 40 hour a week shifts and should they be forced out of work by ill health do not have that to fall back on.
What I'm trying to say is that having such an intense fixture buildup is entirely avoidable and it would do a huge favor to the players if they were given a schedule conducive to their safety, the world will still function if you allow footballers more rest during the festive period. You can't avoid having a nurse working 40+ hours a week because of shortages or avoid police officers doing shifts at night.

Career ending injuries can very well happen. Footballers in recent times have been worked to the extreme. There's more international games now and the game has evolved to the point where the intensity and work rate is so much different to how the game was a decade ago.

I am sick to death of hearing Hendo the self appointed voice of reason whinging on about nobody cares about players health, they get 100s of thousands of pounds a week and the best medical treatment money can buy. If you don't like it get a proper job on a zero hours contract for minimum wage dealing with the general public who get in a strop because a shop has run out of cranberry sauce
it's bought in you fkn morons the staff don't make it in a kitchen at the back of the shop.

Happy fkn Christmas all

Henderson lacks self awareness, always wrong when he mouthing off. Trying to be in the players good books rather then the fans first.

looks like sick note didnt get the xmas news he wanted ?

Said the man who got away with gambling irregularities (and, by appealing to death, avoided affecting the RS (One Rule for Them, another for everyone else) - even played in a CL winning team.. got a slap on the wrist and an off season ban AT ANOTHER CLUB..

Typical RS BS spin - boo hoo, lost his designer dog. Got it back. Most people would be so grateful to have to pay a quarter of a week's pay as a reward for getting their dog back.
