Did we really need a left back ffs, what’s Nkonkou thinking now, he’s not coming back is he. We’ve miraculously found £18m where RB our is creaking, no legs in midfield, have we really learnt anything from the last 5 years.
I personally see nkounkou as a more attacking player. Possibly eventually playing left wing.

If we got the same for Digne as we sign Mykolenko for it would still put us massively up on FFP.

Dignes book value is £6-7mil.

We sell him for £20mil = weve got £13/14mil to spend.

We sign Mykolenko for £20mil on a 5 year deal and we use £4mil this year.

Still £9-10mil to spend on a RB and more.
I really hate it when people apply logic on this forum.

This forum is more of a let's burn him at the stake and let all logic fly out the window type of place...

Exactly. And I think we could actually get 25/30 for Digne. This is the most sensible thing the club has done in a while. The bed wetters are just complaining because it’s Rafael selling him. If it was Carlo doing it then their would be no problem.

We always had money, I believe plenty of it, it was just FFP stoping us spending it, no other club has suffered with it like us, but ultimately it is our own fault spending the money in the past totally the wrong way.

Definitely a gamble. Would reserve judgment until after seeing him play for Everton.

I think Digne's fallout with Benitez is what solidify this transfer. A positive, is we reacted quickly. Negative, it seems like a big sum to splash on a gamble.

Thing is Digne has never been very good at his job, he’s poor at defending. Attacking he is good but if the defending part isn’t up to scratch hes not really much use to us.
