Why are you taking [Poor language removed], and making out I’ve said things that I haven’t, if it makes you feel better crack on pal. The drugs must be off the charts.

This started because I said Ramsey would be our best midfielder and lets face it, that’s not difficult. If you don’t agree fine. But now apparently. I want him at all cost, he’s a juve legend. And he can only be a good player if he’s never injured. Figo would be our best winger. I mean ffs what planet are
you on
This is the transfer thread.

You said Ramsey would be our best midfielder even if he only played three games a season.

Why did you make this utterly nonsensical statement, in the transfer thread, if you are not in favour of signing him?

Admit it. You completely underestimated the extent of Ramsey's injury history. After several of us pointed it out, you backtracked.

It's ok to be wrong. Just learn from it and move on. But you need to accept you were wrong in order to learn from it.

Bellotti is 27 and has 40caps for Italy and Torino finished 7th a few years ago and
Played in the europa league. Maybe Torino have always put a huge price on his head.

My point was Doucoure at 26 was available for 20mil and ended up at Everton.
Yeah my bad 27. Either way it was an illustrative example.

Everton were close to finishing in Europa last year but for injuries mid-season (most notably to Doucs). And also good luck trying to get in the french squad, tough gig. Plenty of good players in middling teams, they don't all exclusively play in European club competitions or for their international side (albeit more do).

My point is that the squad a player is playing in or their transfer history is generally not a primary indicator of their quality.

Will have to agree to disagree on the Doucs/Ramsey side of things. If I was head of recruitment for West Ham or Spurs (who are in the area of the league we should be aiming for) - and god willing one day I will be - I know who I'd be signing.

That still was the weirdest transfer I can recall. Schalke wasn't relegated when they loaned him to Juve for 2 years with a mandatory buy option. Basically caused them to get relegated.
Juve have got some strange transfer processes haven't they. The weirdest one was the Pjanic for Arthur swap?! Don't know what went on there.

Remember watching Mckennie in that Schalke side, only because the Bundesliga was the only footy on tv at the time (lockdown 1). Jonj in the side an all. They were sh**e but thought Mckennie stood out

Why weren’t champions league teams falling over themselves to get him, if he’s so good

No ones commented that Doucoure would be brilliant in the champions league or even that hed be brilliant in SerieA.

Weve said hes better than Ramsay and would walk into Juventus' midfield.

To make it easier, do you think he is better than Weston McKennie who would be the player he would replace?

There could be an argument to say Weston McKennie walks into our midfield -- next to Doucoure but he wouldnt be better than him today.

The fact is Juventus' midfield is terrible which is why theyve had a bad season so far...Ramsay cant break into it.

Belotti was/is top notch.

They were asking £80mil for him before and teams wouldnt pay it.

The years after his crazy scoring season Torino have become gradually far more defensive and i wouldnt call him a false 9 but hes had to drop back 20 yards from goal to help link up play...because they have no quality in midfield.

So hes a good player in a poor defensive team doing the legwork and creativity and with an enormous price on his head...thats why no one has gone in for him.

Doucoure for £20mil was a bargain, i wanted him under Silva.

Ramsay in his prime at Arsenal was a top player...one of the best in the league. But that player has gone.

Wish we could have signed him under Moyes when he chose Arsenal...but now, no.

That pjanic/arthur deal was so both could show an incoming fee and navigate ffp.

Otherwise halve the fees involved.

Talksport linking us to Wijnaldum on loan for the rest of the season.

Athletic quoted on a dodgy site that we still want Jebbison from sheffield united.

Id take both.

Has he kicked a ball since that game against us? Haven’t heard a thing from him.

McKennie has played on right in a 442 quite a bit. Not played much in centre mid. But juve have Locatelli, Arthur, Rabiot, Bentancur all internationals. So if Doucoure walks into the juve side. Which 3 of That 4. Are sitting on the bench for 12th placed Everton.

Yes I agree, We watched, Gomes, Davies, occasionally delph and siggurdsson in our midfield. Probably the slowest and weakest in the prem. obviously someone coming in who has a presence about them, is box to box, can run and get about The pitch. Is going to stand out from previous crap we’ve watched.

That doesn’t make him a top class midfielder.
It depends what you mean i suppose.
I wouldnt class him as top class tbh, but imo effectiveness trumps having quality.
I wouldnt swap him for a whole host of midfielders out there atm as i think he's exactly what we need and should be trying to surround him with technically better players.
