Doucoure is just another players massively overrated by our fans. Good player but there’s reason he ended up at mid table Everton at his peak for 20mil

Yes I agree, We watched, Gomes, Davies, occasionally delph and siggurdsson in our midfield. Probably the slowest and weakest in the prem. obviously someone coming in who has a presence about them, is box to box, can run and get about The pitch. Is going to stand out from previous crap we’ve watched.

That doesn’t make him a top class midfielder.

Watched him last night, tried to dribble past an opponent on the edge of his own box, lost the ball and Lille conceded late on.

He'd fit in perfectly.

I know how the Rondon transfer panned out but, given RB's dealings in the transfer market in the short space of time he's been here, I don't think it's a bad thing that he has control of who comes in. Looks like the VDB chase is off now MB has gone for example.

Don't think the fans overrate Doucoure - they can just see with their own eyes he is our best midfielder - it's all relative.

Doucoure would get into the Juve team ahead of Ramsey. Not just on injuries. They reserve Ramsey now for absolute minnows in the league or cup. Weston McKennie (CM for relegated Schalke a year or two ago) starts ahead of him (and is a decent player).

Doucoure does play for mid-table Everton, but he's better than mid-table that's for sure (as was Mckennie at Schalke)

I’d say the opposite, we’ve punted on unknowns, players from foreign leagues and less actual proven PL players.

The only unknown name who's come to Everton in that time has been JPG?

Considering we need a midfielder to replace Allan, I don’t think Ramsey is the right profile of player to be looking at.

That’s your opinion, If he’s better than mid table, why has he never played above that level then and he’s 29.

Heard it for years. Jags, better than Terry, Arteta better than Alonso etc
