As for the Ben Godfrey thing...none of us as fancy knew who he was even though he played an entire season at Norwich in the prem and making no noticeable impact.

Ancelotti even said that he hadn’t seen Godfrey but was glad that the club had delivered him, same as Doucoure.

Some of the stuff coming out is pure revisionism to suit a frankly unhelpful anti Benitez agenda. Brands signed a three year contract recently, people who aren’t empowered in their jobs don’t do this.

Apparently it was everyone’s fault apart from his, Moshiri’s for everything before Benitez but now definitely Benitez’s fault. How convenient.

Exactly and it has now become FACT among our supporters. I am on other Everton groups and they are all spouting this stuff, it just furthers the boo boys. It is very divisive

I think he is probably one of the last to go, personally Imo he is one of the last to be blamed.

That said, not being allowed to do his job, decisions over his head, managers not being chosen by him, these things alone should have made him quit.

Why should it? Have you walked away from many massively well paid jobs on pure principle? Particularly when your boss has undermined your reputation and probably made it difficult for you to earn the same elsewhere?

The more we hear, the more disturbing Moshiri’s involvement is. I think time will demonstrate much of the flack aimed at Brands was incorrectly directed.

This tells me that most of the above is totally unsubstantiated, pure guess work.

What does the situation at Everton tell you?

It looks very much to me like Gray, Townsend and Rondon are Benitez recruitments.

James and Allen Ancelotti recruitments.

Putting managers leading recruitment to one side, there was talk that Tosun was hand picked by Moshiri, who first watched him in Monaco when Monaco played Besiktas. On bringing him to Everton he said;

“he looked very good. I followed him and the coaching staff liked him. There are not a lot of strikers around, so hopefully we’ve hit it right.”

So he liked him and the coaching staff agreed. Maybe they did like him, maybe the coaching staff wanted to agree with their boss and keep on his good side but he was scouting players.

Should he be doing this? Did it stop?

Brands cryptic message said enough to indicate the issue when confronted about issues at the club - just the players!

….yep, we don’t know what truly went on but assumptions can be made on what we know.

i think increasingly Brands wont be blamed for what he did, he’ll be blamed for what he didn’t do.

You have to assume that he retained hope of trying to correct things… and finally arrived at the conclusion that trying to correct Kenwright and co was a total lost cause
