A young unproven manager is our only way out of this

We cannot attract an established top manager, so we need to find the next top manager before they are established.

It's exactly the same with players. We need to find them first. The obsession with experience has us in a never ending vicious circle of veering from one crisis to another.

Didn’t we do this with Silva when we gave him Richarlison Kean Gbamin and told him to develop DCL?

Isn’t that exactly what you’re proposing?

Yes that's absolutely what I am proposing but we need to do it better obviously, and preferably with a new DOF who will recruit better.

There are no shortcuts. Our only chance is finding the next top players and manager first.

Just because Silva couldn't do it doesn't mean someone better can't.

I would take this all day if we were in a better position, however, the time it would take a young manager to get things going would be too risky, relegation would then be a real worry

Beat Judas Arteta and we get ourselves free of this death spiral. A draw hands us something to hold onto until Palace
Beyond complaining now to be honest.

He'll die on his sword. He's not arsed. He can't lose regardless as he'll bank £10mill for the sack.

The players will do him like they've done his predecessors. So will just wait for that to happen.
...and then do the same with the next manager.

About time someone handed support to a manager and left them to get on with turning it round. It's early enough in the season to do that.

If he doesn’t go in the next few games then he probably is here for three years. He’ll only be fired if we look likely to be relegated. One good result and the heat goes out of it and the board take the easiest road which is to keep him in place. The board will always do whatever is easiest.

It’s either now or Dave is probably right.
It’s not like we’re hurtling to a relegation battle or anything

Don't forget Rafael made several defensive signings at Newcastle and was there for over 3 years.

He's been here for 4 months. People seem to forget that.

He's also working with players who quite frankly are barely above championship level.
of the available players
Digne, Doucoure, Allan, Godfrey, Gray, Pickford, Richarlison are (or should be) top half premier league standard.
Delph, Keane, Townsend, Gomes, all mid table players.
There's a whole team that should be comfortably in the top half there.
A team that shouldn't be losing to watford and brentford.
