Whatever happened with the proposed office development at the Park End? It was supposed to be built during the summer through to October 2011. When it didn't get started there were a few different stories going around as to why there was no progress on the project. The word from the club was that the logistics of moving offices and club shop etc during the season wouldn't be practical and that it was just being delayed so that could be done at the end of the season. Other stories that were going around were that the club didn't own the land it was to be built on, the club had heavily mortgaged the land and the banks wouldn't allow it to go ahead, and the club hadn't the cash to build it. The project seemed to get forgotten about.

I'm sure there's been more occasions that the club said something was going ahead, weather a player signing or a major financial investment or other building projects, that just never happened and were never going to.

Was it something to do with the club loaning against future income and the build not being allowed because of it.

I might be wrong on this but I think it turned out we didn't actually own all of the land that the building was going to sit on!

Plans expected to happen don’t happen for various reasons, no need to attack the club for it.

like earlier on I was meant to be going shopping with the missus, she was doing my head in being snappy so told her I’m not going and going to have a bath. Her plans for us going shopping together didn’t happen, my plan to have a nice relaxing bath then chill out didn’t happen as she’s in a mood and refused to go shopping but is now following me round complaining.

Yes that rings a bell with me, in fact until Mr. Moshiri sorted the club out we didn’t actually own quite a lot of Goodison Park, although I believe the Boys Pen was ring fenced.

I'm not attacking the club for it not happening, just interested in the excuse they gave that it was just being put back a few months which turned out to be untrue.
