Everton Summer transfers 2021

Every journalist connected with Everton says we can buy without the need for sales though.

Of course we need to sell in order to keep our wage bill down and reduce losses, and probably stay compliant, but all the evidence (apart from one random Dutch journalist) points to selling not being a pre-requisite of buying this summer.
Happy to accept that point and hoping that’s the case.

Thing is, just playing devil's advocate, it's not even hard to assume that our jokers do actually think James and Mina out to bring McNeil in is just fine.

We'll get rid of our only goalscoring/creative midfielder that isn't currently suspended, and our best defender, and get in a winger who doesn't score many or create many (and no, I'm not going to say he's a world beater based on that game he had against our rabble last season)

I’d like to hope that if we sell James and Mina we’re bringing in more than just McNeil.

Imagine selling our best CB, another CB and our best attacker for a LW we don't even need? Not that I believe the jarg Twitter account but that would be peak Everton squad planning.

best is a bit of a misnomer though when they're all distinctly average

Just cause he's from south america doesn't mean he's automatically a playmaker

for anyone saying Nunes could replace James in terms of creativity.

He looks much more like a ball carrying midfielder - which is good, we need one
He looks like what we wanted Gomes to be doing week in week out
