I think he's a decent player.

He isn't worth £25-30m and he's a bad ted by all accounts.

He was punted from West Brom's training because the new coach wasn't happy with how he was training.

Top tier clubs like the Manchester clubs require more than just goals, they require ( city mainly ) footballers that can actually play on the deck

City need something different to what they currently have.
They are predictable in how they play and when it doesn't work for them they pay a heavy price as the CL final gave evidence of.
A player like DCL would allow them to vary their attacking style and create different problems.

They probably can continue to buy the Premiership title but European success is a different challenge.

I am not trying to sell DCL to City, but to say he wouldn't be a valuable player for them is incorrect imo.

I think he will play as one of the two if Benitez uses a 4231 formation.

He'll take the ball on the turn from defence and drive forwards using his pace...or pass the ball around proactively...while not being a killer playmaker like James he will look to cut out opposition midfielders through passing between them or knocking the ball past them and leaving them for dead.

Potentially looks good but i doubt he'll be lighting up the league from day one. Im not sure if he will do well in the league and seemed a season away from a real breakthrough as hes not a starter for sporting yet and will be 23 this month.

My guess is that hes a rotation player and will compete with Gbamin, Davies, Onyango Allan and Doucoure.

He does offer two things which they dont, passing and pace. If he comes good then he could be very good as hes someone who would be hard to press in the middle of the pitch and looks dynamic...i doubt he would be caught on the ball like Davies.

Im a bit negative on him as it seems like a risk because hes not a starter for Sporting at 23 but if he can step up another couple of levels then potentially hes a very good player.

The money doesnt seem huge at €18mil / £15mil but the pressure will be on him because were crying out for a player like him...whether hes good enough, time will tell.

Nunes did not start the last season as a regular in the side, but has become increasingly important as the season progressed. Recently he started the Portuguese super cup and by the sounds of it had a real good match with one assist credited to him. Sporting fans not too happy to lose him which is always a good sign...

Right back is the priority but Doucoure and Allan aside our center mix was woefully slow and lacked any kind of cutting edge so a young lad who can put his foot in, carry the ball with pace, beat a man and play a pass sounds incredible for the touted 15m.
If we can get him and a starting RB after clearing out some high earners doing nothing and bringing in some cheaper more effective squad players we’ve definitely improved the team and the squad.

How do they need a different option though they've won the league 3 of the last 4 years is it?

They lost the cl final because 1) kdb went off and 2) pep tried to be to clever and not playing either rodri or Fernandinho for the first time last season

DCL will never play for city whilst pep is manager

Anyone else a little miffed that the rich 6 fresh from their plans to destroy English football have received such a mild slap on the wrists that they’re currently throwing £100’s of millions around for players with seeming impunity while the rest of us have the footballing equivalent of a tenner so as to not breach ffp rules.

yeah and when you realised that bird with the nice arse and the Farrah Fawcett haircut was never going to be interested in you, you turned to her mate who was no stunner but seemed like she would be more willing and do the things you were focused on at the time. Fast forward three years and your pushing a pram and she hates you, because it turns out you don't really even have the funds to support her at all.
That's exactly why we got Benitez after Carlo flirted with us and that's also where I see it all going.

Just for anyone wanting us to sign Pereira from West Brom.

He's tweeted about him wanting to leave, he's still punted from training, WBA are wanting £25-30m for him and he's moaning about a 'life-changing offer' from a Saudi club having not been accepted.

I'd rather have James, thanks.

West Brom supposedly hung him out to dry, and he's made a comment that he's not actually doing some of the things WBA are accusing him off.

£18-20m would be great value. But we're still skint, and it won't happen.
