In terms of what he'll actually bring to the club, strictly footy speaking, Benitez isn't the worst appointment at all.
I just don't see how he can have been the best viable option. Then again, we're not in a great place.
Issue is the fanbase is already ready to turn so as soon as stuff goes wrong...
Ancelotti got time from the fans because he was Ancelotti. Benitez isn't going to get that time.
Anyway, I'm past getting too wound up for now. The club's a mess. From the outside looking in, looking at it objectively, most fans of other club will say it's probably a decent appointment. It just doesn't show any long term thinking and the fact is one of our main rivals' favourites is going to be on a contract lasting up til the new stadium.
