Proper dragging on this now. Wouldn't mind if we were casting the net far and wide, but seems like we're focussed around 2-3 managers only. Get a move on and hire anyone but Benitez ffs.
No one knows. Everything to date has been pure press speculation. We don't know if they are luring Pep, asking Wenger to return, looking at Colin, Sam or any other manager. We only know it is not done yet. Whoever it will be they will tell us in due course.

In between times, let's speculate, bad wet, tear up our digital season tickets, cry foul, cheer a "decision" or have a monumental melt-down. But seriously let's not cack our kecks until there is something to cack over.

I think it would be extremely naïve to suggest the reports of Rafael being close to the job are just speculation - as much as i'd love that to be the case. If it wasn't true, the club would ensure the press know it but that doesn't seem to be happening.

If I'm honest I've been surprised at how unpopular an option NES is with most Evertonians. Not my preferred choice but I thought he did a good solid job at Wolves and would be a sensible pick. Perhaps if we'd all been more enthusiastic at the start the club wouldn't have been tempted to look at Benitez.
He uninspiring, his "system" which pretty much only he plays would require us to get in like 7 new players of which, again, when he is sacked nobody else plays. He's completely burned out, he said he's homesick. And he had massive issues with agent ties with Mendes Doesn't exactly sounds like someone who would be motivated to do a great job, no?

Just because Benitez is an awful choice doesn't mean the slightly less awful choice should be welcomed.

Agree with everything you've said mate. However at this stage I'd end up feeling delighted if we appointed him over Benitez.

Such is the state of things.

Fair enough... I suppose even Boris Johnson is preferable to the FSW!

I’ve always thought that managers have a sell by date, Wenger, SAF, Mourinho and although I was happy with his appointment I suspect CA has gone the same way the FSW also falls into this group. Only SAF recognised this and left on his terms, that’s why I’m nailing my colours to Potter, risky I know, but I feel we need someone with new and innovative ideas. But having said all that I was in favour of Silva.

If we were in this position a year ago people would be demanding we go and get him.

Fortunes change so quickly.
