Disappointing to see CA go but I did fear his time was coming to an end. He is a great manager but Everton were not a good fit for him, and him for Everton.

He is a short term manager, with short term goals and short term building strategies. He has excellent expertise with established top teams, with quick turn arounds.

We need to look at a manager with hunger, someone with a point to prove, who will see Everton as that opportunity. Also someone who will rally the fans in the way Carlo did.

Lots of managers fit that profile. As great as they are, I think the big names like Conte, Sarri would be more temporary fixes. Moyes, Benitez and Gerrard would not win the fans either.

A project for the new manager, might also mean a project for us, in giving a young manager a platform to learn and make mistakes. Vieira, Lampard, Pirlo, Potter or Howe would all be interesting moves. Young managers with a point to prove.

The fan base wanted Carlo Ancelotti out after 16 months because he couldn’t get a team of useless ball bags who don’t care about the club or have the desire to progress playing tiki taka free flowing attacking football.

Also, we tried the young manager approach under Silva and look exactly where that ended up.

The problem is and has been for a long time the wrong recruiting in terms of players. Wrong attitudes and wrong type of players. We now have accumulated a team of ball bags who consistently keep seeing off managers.

Holgate on like his 6th manager
Coleman - 7th
Gomes - 3rd
Iwobi - 3rd
Sigurdsson - 5th

I don't actually want Ancelotti to leave. But if he's gone, and it looks like he is, we might as well just go full reboot and build a new team from scratch. The squad needs an overhaul, and there's no point in getting a big name, because it apparently carries no extra weight with our fans. If so many can't get behind Carlo Ancelotti, who do we get?

The level of delusion is off the charts and the only cure is to brutally manage expectations and go back to basics. If we can't challenge, then run the club as a business the way other clubs do.

Mate, stop with this weird thing you have that people weren't behind Carlo.

95% of people are gutted. They just weren't all of the idea that he couldn't be criticised or questioned. Let's face it, the footy has been crap but results have been alright. The frustration is that we wanted to see where he could take us but now it looks like that's gone and so will our best player - and it just makes it all look like more of a mess.

People were behind Carlo. For whatever reason - and at least a big part of this must be on the club - he's now binned us off. Well, that's down to him too.

Nobody has forced Carlo out of Everton. He's walked out on us.
