I assume this is been too and not seen on the telly

Nou Camp (I hate idiots that call it Camp Nou - Oh been there have you? Come here and explain how Joe Parkinson bossed Spurs in 95? Oh .. oh)

Celtic Park

Estadio Da Luz (Benfica) (With Everton)

Anyone who puts Camp Nou needs to visit it, it's a crumbling wreck, looks good on tv packed out but my god is it a dump inside at close view, the facade outside is so dated and inside the concrete is in a state.

My fav stadiums.

Dortmund.
San Siro.
Bernabeu
Sampdoria.
Boca.
Ibrox.
Millennium Stadium.
How many of them have you actually been too mate?

Independente won Libertadores in the time when champions entered automatically to the semifinals of the next cup, and also they had the power of Julio Grondona (there are wiretaps where he admits to fix referees in the 1964 https://www.google.com.ar/amp/s/www.infobae.com/2015/06/22/1736841-escuchas-el-dia-que-grondona-gano-un-partido-dos-lineas-y-el-arbitro-que-ayudo-boca/?outputType=amp-type )

One of the most corrupt person in Argentine history, he was president of independent and later with the Military regime he assumed as president of AFA and ruled for 40 years until his death in 2013 ... the same year that independente got relegated, and the following year Racing wins the league after 13 years

Now independiente hasn't won a league since 2002. We have more leagues than them, more national cups, and a best and biggest fan base, imo we are 3rd and are 4th

Estudiantes on top of Racing or San Lorenzo is like placing Nottingham Foreste on top of Everton, ManCity, Arsenal or Spurs. They have only 6 leagues and got relegated like 3 times.
I dont know, the libertadores in south america is more important than the champions league in europe in my opinion. They also won 2 sudamericana's in the past 10 years, and the historial against Racing favors them heavily. 1621856907137.webp
I agree looking at it now i liked Estudiantes 4 libertadores, but comparing them to Forest isnt fair lol, Forest havent been relevant in 40 years.

Done both tours and matches at Camp Nou and Bernabeu and watched a sevco game when McCoist was manager.

The rest of them i like visually, i don't like the modern corporate bowl look hence why they are not in, they all look
samish.

I would say Dortmund's is the best club stadium in the World visually, classic 4 stands stadium with the yellow wall, it's the benchmark for a intimidating stadium and holds over 80k when standing is permitted, Bernabeu a close 2nd, the steepness in that stadium from the stands is amazing, new roof and new facade being done now will make it more amazing.

I think Ibrox is the Best club stadium in the UK, probably Archibald Leitch's best work, brick facade on the main stand is stunning, best overall stadium in the UK has to be the Millennium one, close to the pitch and has the closed roof option, amazing that it cost £121 million.

You hate when people call it by the real name?

I think thats counting only league games, you are missing many national and internarional cups derbys

In any case, that historial is irrelevant since it was modified by 40 years of grondonism... nowadays they haven't won a derby in 5 years and Racing won the last 3 in a row

Sudamericana is seen here as a VERY low level competition... in fact Racing never plays it because it is competing in Libertadores evert year, and we won the league in 2014 and 2019, while they haven't won it for 20 years

Obviously Libertadores is important but you have to analyze each edition. You cannot compare, for example, the one that Racing won in 1967, which was the longest that was played in history, with others that Independiente won playing only 3 games.

Also Racing has many records in Argentine football, such as being the only one to win 7 leagues in a row, the first Argentine world champions, first Argentine champion in Brazil, the team with most undefeated games in a row and the team with most wins in a row

Curious, how hard is it to get tickets to a Racing game?

Something I’d be keen on attending when I visit.

Terraces, or as we called it here "la popular" are for members only (don't know if members is the correct word, here we called them "socios", you pay a monthly fee, you have your plastic card and with it you automatically go to "la popular") so you cannot buy tickets for that sector.

Then there is what we call "plateas" here, seating section that are more expensive but tickets are sold for both members and guests... tickets are sold online so by doing it in advance you should't have problems to acquire them unless it's a high profile match

Been to a handful on the continent...

Bernabeu... Stunning and not a bad seat in the place
Nou camp... Let down
San siro... The walk up to the top tier is hard work, the view when you walk out is just stunning. 1 bar for about 10k fans though in the ground
Munich Olympic stadium... Great atmosphere considering you are far from the pitch
Verona... Surprisingly decent

This is interesting, size comparrison on the old vs new Wembley

Wembley (for all its faults) was iconic.

That new ground “Wembley” is a soulless abomination.

It’s a lesson that shiny new stuff doesn’t automatically mean better, and if it’s replacing something that is iconic it usually means much worse.

FA Cup finals (those pre match overhead shots of the stadium and the twin towers which got the hairs standing on the back of your neck), 1966 World Cup final, Freddie Mercury at Live Aid, iconic moments that cannot be emulated in the generic bowl that’s now there.

You never hear anyone sing “we’re going to Wembley” now, or those that halfheartedly do aren’t arsed. Winning a semi final knowing you were going to the twin towers was almost as big as winning the final itself. Dennis Bergkamp when he arrived in England had one ambition, to play a Cup final at Wembley. The bowl killed the final as a destination as Wembley was the place that everyone got excited for.

If you take away the arch, what separates it from any other stadium? It’s basically Arsenal with 30,000 extra seats.

They had a really big opportunity to make something unique, exciting... instead they went well over budget, and flattered to deceive.

It’s a nice stadium, but Christ, what could have been.

Been to both old and new Wembley and have to slightly disagree. Nostalgia is a great thing but the new Wembley is very impressive, in my opinion.

The hairs on the back of my neck still stood on end when coming out of the station onto Wembley way.

Been to an FA Cup semi/final, FA Trophy final, also to see both Foo Fighters & Metallica and every occasion was memorable.
