That would be bad business and we should say no
We won't force him to stay and lower his value with another half-arsed season of sub appearances like his first.

He doesn't want to be here so they will cash in. There is no realistic scenario where he stays here. I've accepted that.

You watched his first season under Silva?

He wasn't.
He was better than he's been this year.

That team also had a horrendous system, not to dissimilar to the one now, that basically killed his attempts to link up play. So that hasn't helped. Which is why he should just move on.

He wasn't. He was equally as hopeless.

It isn't the system. He's just a really poor footballer on a journey down the league til he finds his level.

He's going to go to a team in the PL and be decent and everyone will say he's terrible anyway because that's what we do. And meanwhile we'll have a terrible attack with no ability to pass to each other and everyone will act like it doesn't matter. So whatever. It's always the players and never the club.

He won't be good because isn't a good footballer.

Ademola Lookman scoring a few goals and getting relegated with Fulham doesn't make it the club's fault when a player is crap.

Which players that we havent rated recently have gone on to bigger and better things after us?

Gueye playing the odd appearance for PSG is the only one.

Still we made no effort to make him not crap. We said "nah mate do the thing you're crap at again but better" for 18 straight months. It's unreal levels of bad management.

And I'm not even saying that there is a way to uncrap Iwobi, but seriously you're going to just keep asking him to do it over and over and over and then blame him? What a joke it has been.
But he has shown quite a bit of faith in him hasn't he, he was often the first sub on, often trusted to play a certain role.

Said this before, but Iwobi playing right wing or left wing shouldn't mean he can't pass a ball.

the difference with someone like Sigurdsson playing there is he's so slow it's clearly not his fault that he can't be running up and down the line (even though he should offer more). But Iwobi seems a powerful player, athletic lad, yet just hardly gets going.

His game is ideally not based around athleticism. He can't pass on the right because he can't use his right foot unless he aims it backward. That's the whole issue. He has no left and needs to be in a spot where he's not forced to use it.

I mean Rom? Yes everyone thought he was great but there are a fair few who thought we'd replace him and that his flaws meant he'd never have larger success.

And well DCL now.

Also Kean.

This is so untrue it's comical. The club get absolutely panned every time an ex player has a half decent game at their new club, and the pining for some former players for years afterwards is borderline stalkering.

I disagree, I think people are very defensive in their heads about saying the club is simply broken, which it is.

Anyone who didn't rate Rom was an idiot. Same with those who can't get behind Dom.

Kean is one but that's judging him on the back of one season and like Gueye he hasn't made himself more than a squad player really.

Maybe on here - although I don't think so - but among Everton fans generally the club gets blamed for everything from the weather to inflation. It's like a running joke how badly run the club is.
I just see a lot of people when something goes wrong blaming the individuals when the while thing is a mess. I look at someone like Andre Gomes who isn't that bad and is made to look like a buffoon all the time. He's clearly a PL level player but we refuse to even attempt to get him in situations that cover up what he isn't good at. That's not totally his fault yet we just pan him over and over instead of the bigger picture.

And yeah that's probably just on here.
