Why? We have been keeping clean sheets of late. And we have 4 plus Branthwaite. Can’t see it myself.
Because we are keeping clean sheets by being overly defensive and playing 3 CBs. Branthwaite hasn't overly impressed at Blackburn. Mina has a poor injury record and I didn't think Carlo is impressed by Holgate.

I think he will want a CB, who allows us to play a higher line and who can organise the defence.

We set up very defensive
Mina only has 2 years left on his deal, so it’s sell or new deal. Which as he’s a top earner a new bigger deal, taking up to 31/32 maybe a risk.

Holgate isnf good enough

Kean is a good solid prem defender, but has limitations like unable to defend high.

And Godfrey is still young.

Aside from his time at the RS, he's had a fairly normal injury record.
The other thing about buying him, is what system are we playing. DCL rarely gets injured.

We ain’t playing 442. With Richarlison left and James/new RW on the right.

I think the we will sign a RW and another attacker comfortable playing wide and through the middle.

Ings ain’t coming at 29 to sit on the bench, he may as well go to Chelsea or city to do that

I cant work him out, he constantly looks like a rabbit caught in headlights, when he was in Germany I didnt see that, he was calm, composed and slotted.

Everytime I saw him play he needed about 5-6 chances to score one.

Admittedly I only watched him a hand full of times every season but everytime I did he always struck me as a wasteful finisher. Just Germany is a step down from the prem and hes such a good player before he gets to the point where he shoots he'd get plenty of chances the lad just doesn't have ice in his veins imo.

I know that sounds strange considering the amount of goals he scored for RB but that's always been my impression of him.

It wouldn't surprise me if Ancelotti's big signing was a centre half. He seems to prioritise building from the back. I wouldn't be surprised to see Koulibally sign for about £60 million. I know Moshiri wanted him when he first bought the club. I'm not sure that should be our priority, but we have to trust the manager.
I like Koulibaly well enough and the need for a upgrade at CB is clear... but £60m is ridiculous. Swerve at that price.

Even with a big summer we would still have so much dross in our squad, we cannot afford to make any more poor signings (Iwobi) for the next couple of years. It sets us back
