ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

...proper annoyed and feeling sick this morning. Certainly not gloating, Matey.

It was @davek who invited me to ‘vault him’ if he was wrong in posting the Reds are well out of the race for 4th and it was all over.

it’s as though we invite it happening, its almost fate. Some posters never learn when it comes to that lot.

Why? Because they might finish 4th? Christ.

The more that agenda is pushed the better, as it will convince the owners that everything is rosy. Then when Wijnaldum leaves, Henderson's legs have gone, Milner is finished, Salah's pace starts to go, Van Dijk comes back half the player he was, Mane asks for a transfer etc they will be in trouble, the same way Man Utd were when they didn't invest for a few years.
Fingers crossed mate, I hope this is the way it plays.

Sadly, I think Satan's still in bed with them.

But they have genuinely had lots and lots of injuries though?

They’ve had some long term injuries in the one position. Van Dijk, Gomez, Matip. Then Henderson picked something up. Everything else has just been the odd game here or there for Fabinho. It’s really similar to Silva’s season where Gbamin Gomes and Delph missed the whole season all impacting the one position. We didn’t have the means in January to go out and get two players to cover that position though.

The durability of those 5 players in particular is unbelievable though. They barely miss a game no matter how much they’re used.

As we know FSG are identical to the Glazers - just with better PR.
The only thing they are interested in is getting a top 4 finish for the CL money.
If that happens then all is well. If they win any trophies then that's so much the better
for the brand but not a prerequisite or essential in any way. Top 4 finish and the manager
of both respective clubs keep their job. The armchairs continue to pay out for the
'merchandise' that they sell and pay their SKY subscription fees. Dividends and
'consultancy / management fees' keep on getting sucked out of the clubs and
directly into the pockets of the owners. Job done.

But that’s what most injuries are, the odd few games here and there. The keeper has missed quite a few games, Jota missed months, so did Thiago. Obviously they weren’t gonna be missing half a squad for 6 months with bad injuries, when does that happen?

The loveables are already starting to talk up how great an achievement it will be if they get CL this season, and the media will drive that narrative along nicely for them.

Nevermind that we were getting the words "dynasty" and "were back on our perch" lobbed at us from the lurkers, like bricks at an opposition's team bus visiting anfield, not too log ago.

We also had all the media garbage about this team being unstoppable and winning everything in sight for the foreseeable, from sourness and spitty.

Look a bit silly now, don't you lurkers?!

In reality, all it took was a mackem with little arms and strong legs to bring them back down to earth with a bump.
Don't forget "the best team in league
history"

They lost their 3 main center halves and replaced them with Kabak, Phillips, and Williams who have all had less than 10 premier league apps and they're still within finishing 4th. Jota also got injured in the peak of his form as well. I think from a sporting view its impressive that they can save their season, look how exposed United were without Maguire.
