Champions League revamp

I think the best case scenario would be the 12 clubs form their league, drop out or get kicked out of their domestic leagues, then they can't secure a broadcaster willing to pay them big bucks to show their games.

Seeing where they stand or trying to get player power against the move.

Tbf he does seem sound off the pitch
TBF to him, this is EXACTLY what needs to happen. The only way this will be stopped is if the PLAYERS show solidarity with the Prem and condemn the idea of a "super league"
I've been dismayed by the lack of comment so far by the players. I understand that some will be reluctant to express a view in direct opposition of the owners of their clubs but they need to think of the longer term future of football, not just their own contract situations.

The Premier League, alongside The FA, met with clubs today to discuss the immediate implications of the Super League proposal.

The 14 clubs at the meeting unanimously and vigorously rejected the plans for the competition.

The Premier League is considering all actions available to prevent it from progressing, as well as holding those Shareholders involved to account under its rules.

The League will continue to work with key stakeholders including fan groups, Government, UEFA, The FA, EFL, PFA and LMA to protect the best interests of the game and call on those clubs involved in the proposed competition to cease their involvement immediately.

The Premier League would like to thank fans and all stakeholders for the support they have shown this week on this significant issue.

The reaction proves just how much our open pyramid and football community means to people.

Reading in the metro the other 14 clubs have told the dirty 6 to quit the premier league.

They don’t want to expel unless it’s a last resort so I guess they are giving them clubs wiggle room to reconsider

Of course it will - the 14 clubs are turkeys voting for Xmas. Look at the Bundesliga for the future of the PL - Bayern (Utd/City) dominating for eternity but its sound as 51% of Everton is owned by fans who havent a pot to pee in and tickets are only 20 quid.

We want better than to just make up the numbers hence why we should be welcoming the big 6 leaving but we wont as the gravy train is all that matters.

Personally I can’t wait to see the back of them....
