Champions League revamp

Any chance that some of the players might go on strike?

Or have their moral compasses all been lashed into the ocean?

I think there is absolutely a chance of it.

Football players were fans once. Also they are not used to being told no or what to do, they will be fuming that this decision has been made without their input (rightfully so to be honest).

Bit of both from Pep there.

Skirted around the issue using the excuse (which I think will be true, btw) that he doesn't know the details.

It's clear the managers are in the dark on this but ultimately they're the spokespeople for their clubs.

Does anyone really care what Pep or Milner or Klopp ultimately think though?

As usual the media just love clickbait and drama rather than looking at the actual problems.

WHY have the big 6 been given so much power and influence over the years? what can be done to stop it should this ESL end?

The problem is the PL and UEFA are just as corrupt - if ESL ends then FFP gets tightened (for the love of the game) wild card entries into the CL to keep Liverpool and the like safe and the rest of us in midtable obscurity.

If they stay SKY will continue blowing smoke up the big 6's arses 24/7, Prem Refs will keep favouring the top sides.

The more this drags on for me I laugh at the hypocrisy of it all. There are no good guys in this just one dealer not wanting another dealer to muscle in on his patch.

Not sure what more he was expected to say. He literally described the conditions of the SL as "not a sport"

They won't go on strike unless their own individual careers/futures are threatened. Why would they?

Which is why, as harsh as it is, the international sanctions are probably the way forward.

Thing is mate, journalists say this but don't name the person involved.

Feels a bit suspect to me.
If the person says their comment is off the record, what do you expect them to do?

Sure they could name that person, but they'd never get another story from anyone, anywhere, on any topic, ever.

It's not what 'we' think.

the clubs involved don't give a toss about their fans or anyone else's.

However, what they do give a toss about is the 'product'.

And right now, the players and the managers are the product,

If the players and managers start speaking out against it, fully, then that helps. That's the point of it.
