Champions League revamp

An editorial in sports daily L’Equipe says the Super League members are “traitors”. “If they continue with their project, we will never forgive them," it reads. "We won’t forgive them if they give it up, either. The 12 clubs will remain traitors of a shared ideal for a long time still. They’ve showed they’re ready to kill off European football, its essence, its history and its beauty with their cynicism and greed.”

Exactly right. Never forgive. Never forget. Even if they do step away from this proposed league.

The scab 6 for all eternity

They want to stay in the league because that's important to their brand value and the interest in this ESL. Less interest to the ESL and their sponsorships if they can't also compete in that competition. Its 38 games.

How many people in Europe will give a toss about watching Spurs play Real Madrid every 8 weeks? They need the prestige from being best in their countries to engage their plastic support that they're counting on to fund this scheme.

Boot them out the league and it falls on its arse after a couple of years and gets treated like a failed project.

In case I wasn't clear, I meant the super league, not the Premier League.
yeah i understood that .I just think its time to put the so called big 6 in there place call there bluff let them have their super league they can't keep doing this without consequences.

Thats either a bad lie or the most ridiculous statement I've ever heard. That's the problem with an element of our support, zero ambition.
Just no, plenty of Mancs and Kopites are not happy in my anecdotal world and ready to walk away...

And reading their fan groups there is a firm nope building. There is such a a thing as too much of a good thing, first season ok then gloss of playing these big teams regularly will wear thin.

It's got nothing to do with fans, or football as a sport. It's all about certain football businesses protecting it's brands and investments, at the expense of others.

I honestly doubt he will. They'll be no big transfer fees between these super clubs, what's the motivation for a player to move?

Think more about players being signed from non-ESL clubs - the transfer fees would be gargantuan, as would the agents' percentage.
