ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

Shearer from 93 to 97 was a force of nature, absolute monster, left foot, right foot, headers and screamers from 25-30 yards, best English striker of my life time and best in PL, he would have 350 PL goals if it wasn't for that ACL in 93 and the ankle injury in 1997 that sapped his pace.

My all time best PL Striker list who all played as CF.

1. Shearer.
2. Henry.
3. RVN.
4. Suarez.
5. Kane.

Id have Rooney Kane and Aguero all ahead of Suarez. He was very good but only did it for one or two seasons in the prem.

They were talking about the impact on Real Madrid of Sergio Ramos' injury on ESPN and how it improved Liverpool's chances. in the CL.

Steve Nicol piped up and said 'Hang on. This isn't the real Liverpool.' He went on about how massive injuries had wrecked their season.

Well, they lost two centrebacks long term, and Jota who wasn't part of their team that won the league. Fabinho and Henderson were injured long after
they'd gone on a long run of losses. Allison missed a few but I don't think he'd have changed the results of the games lost without him and he's been a bit
poor, anyway.

So, have they been hit any harder with injuries than most other clubs, or even as hard as Everton in games were we've had up to five senior squad players out.

Cantona has to be right up there too. The impact he had on that United team in the mid 90's was enormous. Great bloke too.

Bergkamp as well. He won 3 league titles, and played in a team that didn't lose a single game!

Their strikers all get massively overhyped. Owen Fowler Torres Suarez all very good but they’re nowhere near Henry Shearer Aguero Rooney etc.

Theyve had less injuries than us.

Carragher putting Salah and Suarez in the best ten strikers of premier league history. It’s embarrassing in any poll they do like this that they have to always shoehorn a fair few of Owen Fowler Suarez Salah in (but never Torres because he went to Chelsea).

Meanwhile the likes of Van Nistlerooy, Andy Cole, Yorke, Drogba etc. barely get a mention. It’s embarrassing how biased these things always are. I mean Carragher has Salah and Suarez ahead of Kane ffs.
No way is kane remotely close to Suarez as a footballer. I'm an evertonian an biased as they come. And admittedly, I was wrong about Kane, but no way is he in Suarez's league

Kane could end up breaking the premier league goal scoring record whilst playing for Spurs. Suarez had two good seasons at Liverpool. How are they comparable in a list of premier league great strikers?

I'm comparing them as footballers. To be totally honest, I think it's become a lot easier to score in the last decade. Sterling is a tap in merchant and an awful footballer compared to someone like Giggs. Rooney vs Kane...night an day. Kane is good, but Rooney was brilliant.

I've had one too many gins tonight, so admittedly Sterling isn't an awful footballer. But hearing pundits describe him as 'world class' this last week has made me truly wonder what so called experts really know.

If it’s talking about footballers then Shearer wouldn’t even be up there. If it’s talking about strikers, players who score goals, then that’s a different question. Lukaku for example is a terrible footballer but an unbelievable striker. Rooney was a brilliant player, who played in an unbelievable team, but Kane might end up outscoring him playing for a worse team.
