These allegations and investigation will be more likely to be more commercial deals than Bramley Moore.

I don't think the council held anywhere near the clout as they think they have especially when we negotiated with Peel directly.

It is only a matter of time for this to be signed off and work to begin.

My only concern would be whether we could complete for the start of 2023/24 season.

Pretty sure the ads that are thrown up are based on a user's own internet history.

:coffee:
Not if you religiously set the preferences of all websites to not track you. Then they become more generic. So GOT = football forum, Liverpool FC = football club, hence the ad. I always reject all in the preferences so google ads always offer me random adverts. I have adblock for every site except this one, so that kind of solves the problem.

I've had Liverpool, Man Utd, Arsenal, West Ham ones all pop up. Using google adchoices doesn't seem to have done the trick, but I'm unsure if it's removing the actual club preferences or the category of football, when I click 'Don't show me these type of ads again'.

Anderson is not the only bullet, it is the history of mismanagement/corruption that has triggered what is happening and that ultimately is what may effect our PP.

I disagree. The SoS will have been provided with the Planning officers summary and access to all document pertaining to the submission. It is up to the SoS team to make a decision as to whether the planning officers asessment is a fair reflection of the facts presented. If not, it will be called in and they will prepare their own assumptions, effectively re-doing the work of the Planning officer. If it is a fair reflection, it wont be.

The focus of the planning is upon the locally decided developments, where corruption at a local level is possible. Much of the reason the SoS has a view of large, nationally important applications is to prevent the opportunity of corruption/poor decisions.

We do not know fully what is behind these commissioners being called in and will it have any effect on BMD, it should not. But who knows, we can speculate, have to wait and see.

And the Finch Farm deal whatever you think of it;
1) Was signed off a long time before any alleged corruption is suggested to have taken place- so would be outside of any remit for investigtion/government witchunt
2) The deal is an unbelievably good one for the council. It would be inane stupidity of anyone to look to change that deal from a council perspective, as it would be undermining a cash flow.

People really do need to relax. The stadiums happening. In many ways all of this nonsense will probably help the stadium, as the new admin/tory government will want a big easy "win" to bring people on board, and also distreact people from the sites they feel have been approved in a murky way. A new stadium is a big advantage.

I am with you but do not trust that UNESCO and Historic England to try and screw things.

The investigation has been going on for over 6 months. The report from the investigation is available. BMD is nothing to worry about.

The decision to move away from council financing certainly makes a lot more sense now. I'll be honest, I still think it was a sensible arrangement for both side's particularly the council and was sensible, pragmatic thinking from a council who aretrying to respond directly to swingeing cuts from central government (which have to a great degree caused these cultures to develop). However what you see, is one mans sensible pragmatism, is another persons cronyism. As soon as you start cutting people out of the process, people are very adept at starting to twist the agenda to suit the governments needs. We know Kopites specialise in this sort of snitching to the Tories type behaviour.

When it comes to money all folk have their noses in the trough irrespective of politicla leanings.
