2020/21 Dominic Calvert-Lewin

Both players have missed chances. But my opinion is Richarlison is a better player and plays in a number of different positions. So won’t have the chances DCL does.

I also think of the goals he scored v palace & Southampton last season, goals DCL isn’t capable of scoring

Why can’t we just be happy we have two decent forwards contributing to the team? One capable of doing a host of other jobs when required. Both scored important goals when it’s mattered. It’s great to have that. Once we have a decent midfield with the capability of providing service from all avenues both of them will thrive.

Every player has a bad touch sometimes, every player misses a goal sometimes. The extra scrutiny a lad who most deemed "Championship standard" gets is bewildering.

This ‘championship standard’ lad is the top scorer in the prem from open play. Dread to think what the other strikers are doing judging by the criticism Dom gets.

Nah, but what we're doing here is like Villa saying let's improve on Grealish. It isn't realistic at all. DCL is one of our best players so we should build around him. Get proper creativity in place and he'd score more.

Haha behave yourself. Carlo could come up with 10 better strikers without a moment's thought . He is decent but would not get in any top 4 side in any of Europe's big leagues

Fair enough.

The problem is, we have alternatives and they only get games as they are wingers. It's the Harry Kane conundrum, a fella who is going to score 15+ league goals from open play is not going to come to Everton to sit in the bench.

If you wanted an alternative, it would look and feel a bit like either Moise Kean (young prospect) or versatile forward (Josh King).
I think there's a lot more scope for someone coming in and challenging Calvert-Lewin than Kane, but I know what you mean.

Kean would have been ideal if it'd worked out.

Yes we weren’t great on the day, but he should have won us the points. He got 3/4 good passes into him. Where his touch left him
Down. And the 2 free headers. It’s the difference top class striker will make.

Remember him clean through at Leeds 2-1 up. And hit it straight at the Keeper. That could have cost us big time. He has to score that, it was a poor miss. When he has time to think or has to take a touch, he seems to get it all wrong or isn’t clinical enough.
Watching Harry Kane for instance, even in the cup against us, chances/half chances are not always turned to goals. We do not make enough and what we get becomes more significant. Was he at his best? No. He is not the problem though. Gomes, Davies, even Allan and Digne v Burnley as well as Holgate as a RB. They are your issues.

Ah the arl from open play shout.

Boss considering most of DCLs goals come from positions closer than the pen spot, shall we get rid of all them as well?
Daft comment as you well know.

Why? You tell me one club that's going to pay 40/50m for DCL which is probably the min we would take for him?

No good team in world football even looks at him.

No Joey it's not the same difference because DCL didn't score a hatrick, he should have had a hatrick but he couldn't finish dinner. If DCL had scored a hatrick and we got beat 4-3 then obviously he wouldn't have been to blame unless he missed about another 9 golden chances.

DCL isn't solely to blame for yesterday because not a single player turned up, however, ultimately the chances tell to him and he fluffed every single one of them except one.
Spot on this post, you only have to look at the way Callum Wilson keeps turning us inside out, is he better than DCL? Would he score more if he was in this team?

Because as lots have said DCL wasted many chances against Burnley, the finger can't be pointed at midfield as a number of genuine chances were created, no excuses or free passes given for not punishing teams we really should be batting away with the back of our hands

Come on mate no one stood out but you can't blame Davies for DCL snuffing about 4 sitters
