He never makes himself available for the ball from the defence and it is by far his biggest flaw which is saying something as he has a myriad of flaws.
Someone needs to grab him by the collar and tell him that when our centre backs are on the ball, give them an option. When Luca Digne is on the ball with no pass forward, get your arse over there to give him a pass inside. It's so basic yet this dope seems to think that if he's in the pocket of an opposition player, his teammates are gonna give him the ball.
Get shut.

So what is the problem then. Ok DCL should have done better with the balls into him. Richarlison wasn’t great. Digne also.
But he was part of a midfield that didn’t create loads of chances and let Burnley walk through them time and time again. Yes that’s Burnley who at times had 2 midfielders v our 3.
Your midfield is the heartbeat of your side. And unfortunately we’ve seen enough of Gomes & Davies & iwobi over the last few years to know they ain’t good enough. And they were part of a team that finished 12th last season.
I think ancelotti will go back to his 4 CB’s and shut up shop again. To hopefully nick a few more results to get us in to Europe. Because trying to open up a bit, leaves us wide open. Because the midfield is, slow , weak and they constantly keep losing the ball

I would argue he does. I think he needs to do more, he’s got more in his locker than he’s showing. He was our only player playing little slide balls in to the forwards feet today. Didn’t hide and in particular second half tried to drive us on. Personally wouldn’t jettison him just yet
