Arsenal choosing not to hire him and instead go for a novice kind of makes the point that his stock wasn't that high does it not?

He is fairly similar to Mane, but somehow I don't see them paying big for a Chelsea reject. I know they did with Salah but he was awesome for Roma first. I'm hoping at least.

They made the price higher than fair because they didn't want to sell him. Lampard also played some crap about him being in his plans or whatever for months so he wouldn't push for it.

If Arsenal didn't have the money to play Carlo then I have a tough time seeing them as anything but an equal to us honestly.

The case for Ancelotti still being seen as an elite manager revolving around Arsenal makes it a pretty poor case in 2021.

I'd be surprised by that. I think Madrid make big plays for Haaland and/or Mbappe. They saw signing a Ronaldo as a necessity before and I think they'll see the same thing again.
