For whatever reason, the fella has so far flopped and proven to be a considerable waste of money.

It doesn't make him a bad player, but the signing hasn't worked out.

Depay flopped at United, Van der Beek is flopping at United and Klaassen stunk the place out here.

That doesn't mean that every player from Holland is bad, but my point was historically and recently, players from the Dutch League haven't made an impact in this league.

My guess is Carlo feels like he has no need to develop anyone because he's been told he can just buy what he needs. So if Nkounkou isn't ready than who cares I'll just play Godfrey as a make shift option until I buy another LB. Same with Gordon. I don't see why that would change sort of us stumbling on the next Mbappe. He seems to have no time for anyone under 21s level to drop at all.

Of course this doesn't apply to anyone over 21, but I digress.
