What a snob.

He plays more like an exotic foreigner than any of the exotic foreigners that Ancelotti is able to pick from in centre midfield.
Snob lol

there’s a reason he’s 29 and playing for Southampton mate

he’s only got 22 caps for Scotland, if he was that good he’d have 80 by now

If we moved on Delph and Gomes, and then brought Gana in as a loan I think that would be a decent bit of business

If the money was there I'd sign Loftus-Cheek, as he's not even reached his peak yet and I think he's the sort of powerful midfield player we could use

He would cost quite a bit though, and there are other positions that are more important, so Gana would represent a more cost effective option if the other two midfielders were to leave
Definitely needs to get a permanent move soon, otherwise his whole career will be a cycle of going out on loan, having pre-seasons at Chelsea and then warming the bench until he goes out on loan again.

Seems a bit injury-prone, but always looks quality whenever he's on the pitch.

Har har very funny, I know you revel in playing Mr Contrary Transfer man but you’re flogging a dead horse. Trying to say Neto would go for buttons because apparently Jota was sold for 30 million ‘nEt’. Not factoring in covid, the sweetener player, the positions or literally anything else that goes against the narrative that is today’s reality
I don’t know why I engaged you’ve got a whole stack of quotes and articles ready to fire back, it was doomed to fail. Reason has been abandoned :hayee:

Actually, if you look up the thread i simply commented that Id like Antony + agreed that Neto is also a good player....and tongue in cheek said lets get both.

My response was regarding the fee for Neto or Raphinha being £60mil which, if we look at the evidence:

RS paid £40-45mil and got £10mil back for Jota + Mendes is running the transfer show there and probably has a cut of the fees...

Id say that if you also "factor in covid" as you suggested it wouldnt be far off that amount.

To be honest, in the large scheme of things its not really a big deal as its unlikely we'd go for him anyway.

i didnt really follow what you meant about the fees 'changing' (?) as theyre black and white...

If Hoever is valued at £10m then the total they paid for Jota is £55m isn’t it? Not talking about net spend, talking about the value of Jota.

The “separate deal” rubbish is to save face with FFP and more fiddling of the books from Michael Edwards. I do not believe Wolves paid £10m for a reserve player who doesn’t even make their squad.

If i buy your car for £40k and you take my car for £10k then I've spent £30k upgrading my car.

Same as RS buying Jota for £40mil and Wolves paying £10mil for Hoever. Theres £30mil spent by RS on Jota (net).

@catcherintherye loves baiting the RS so will probably know more about Hoever...if im not wrong, i think he was considered to be their best centre back prospect.

Its obvious figures have been massaged but theyre all we can really go on + they do sell their young players for big fees usually anyway.

He was quite highly rated, but then again everyone is highly rated by them. For me always looked a bit small to play CB, but interesting they sold the family silver.

Not to sound too brexit flag-shagging, but I'd welcome more talented young british players. We've got a great core at the moment.
