While I was skeptical at first, I think it's blatantly obvious they were doping last season. Without going into things I've already posted, the Liverpool side that won the league last year was nowhere near as good as the great United, City, Chelsea and Arsenal sides of the past. The United team from 2006/2009, contained VDS, Evra, Vidic, Ferdinand, Neville, Fletcher, Scholes, Carrick, Anderson, Nani, Giggs, Ronaldo, Tevez, Berbatov and Rooney and Liverpool once beat that side 4-1 at OT.
Then you have City teams containing Kompany, Kolarov, Sagna, Toure, Silva, Nasri, Dzeko, Aguero and and Clichy. The great Arsenal sides, you had players like Seaman ,Campbell, Cole, Viera, Petit, Pires, Llunberg, Henry and Bergkamp. The great Chelsea sides with players like Cech, Cole, Terry, Gallas, Ivanovic, Belleti, Alex, Ballack, Lampard, Essien and Drogba. This teams were out of this world, so you could understand why they won leagues. To be fair the RS should of win the league in 2008/2009 when they dropped points at home in winnable games and it was only Gerrard's slip that cost them the title in 2014.
Mane is nowhere near as good as players like Henry, Rooney and Suarez were in their prime. Firmino is nowhere near as good as players like Bergkamp, Aguero and Lampard. Salah isn't as good as players like RVP, Ronaldo and Robben, it doesn't really make sense how he was able to do what Ronaldo took 4 seasons to do become a world class forward the Premier League.
Arsenal's meltdown was related to aging players and Henry leaving, it was perfectly understandable. Chelsea have had problems with managers and they didn't replace Costa, that's why they struggled. Man City didn't replace Kompany and were knackered from the previous season. United lost Ronaldo and players like Vidic, Ferdinand, Evra, Scholes, Carrick, Fletcher and Rooney were also aging, perfectly understandable. Liverpool struggled, when they sold Alonso and Suarez makes perfect sense.
However nobody can explain how they seemed to all of sudden become a great side, without huge amounts of signings, or a managerial change Mane arrived in 2016, Firmino in 2015, Salah in 2017, Milner in 2015, Henderson in 2011, VVD in 2018, they were pretty average until the end of the 2018/2019 season. Then you have Robertson and TAA who come out of nowhere to become world class players, then all of sudden they become useless and opposition players have them on toast most games nowadays. Anyway hope the RSPCA are watching the Pigeon population of Merseyside, I have a feeling we'll soon have reports of tortured Pigeons around Aldo's house. Anyway COYB FTRS.
