Everton Summer transfers 2021

The key to this next window is likely to be the speed with which we can find buyers, and complete transfers, for Bernard, Delph and Tosun.

Covid is wreaking havoc on our finances and there is no alternative to pruning the payroll. We are fortunate that Besic, Bolasie and Walcott are all OOC as of June, but I suspect we will need to see more departures on top of that. Lads on huge wages will be quietly offered to potential new clubs as early as Easter, I reckon: Gylfi to MLS is an obvious one, for instance.

Norwich look likely to come back up, I would be shocked if they sell him.

Of course you should look beyond the stats, but I'm willing to bet most who say his name hasn't watched him much, nobody can tell me what hes even good at for a start.
From what I’ve seen, he’s a really dynamic attacking fullback, and exactly what we’re missing. No doubt there will be other options, but I would be delighted if we got him. He would solve a problem and give us balance.

Who I'd like to see us go for:
GK --> Anyone tbf. Donnarumma out of contract but the way Milan are going think he'll stay, or only leave for champs league football. I like that Yann Sommer at BMG in Germany. Alfonse Areola? That new GK at Brighton? Bit snookered on this one
RB --> Tariq Lamptey is a baller but I don't think will move so soon after joining Btown. Jesus Corona sounds like a good player and can play wing back and off both sides. Jayden Bogle would be cheap and has looked good for Sheff U when he's got a game this season, and is only 21. More clutch players in the form of Davide Calabria or Hateboer from Atalanta if we wanted to go fishing from abroad.
CM --> Do everything in our power to bring Barella to Goodison. Give them 20% of revenue from ticket sales for the first season in the new stadium - genuinely think he is one of the best midfielders in world football atm. Failing that get Isco. Failing that raid the relegated clubs and pinch Ruben Loftus Cheek or Harrison Reed when Fulham inevitably go down, Lundstram at Sheff U who I reckon would be a signing, or Matheus Pereira from WBA who is classy. Could get in the hunt for Yves Bissouma at Brighton. Frank Kessie at AC, Luis Alberto from Lazio or Thomas Delaney from Dortmund would be worldy signings. Camavinga at Rennes would be a good punt.
ST/Winger --> Rafael Leao or Marcos Thuram please. Maybe this dude Bryan Gil, who I hear is tearing it up in La Liga. Tete at Shaktar did well against Real Madrid in the group stages and is only 20. Rayan Cherki at Lyon will be a phenomenal player but may struggle to get first team appearances (think he is only 17?)

After all that...

Emi Buendia, welcome to Everton

I actually think we can spend a lot less on a GK than any of those options and still find a great player. Areola is an interesting one because he's got mistakes in him but is a really high level shot stopper.

I'm out on Lamptey because he's 5'5 and we defend too deep for that to not be a problem. Corona is a winger who does well at RB because he plays for Porto and they don't have to defend most weeks as they brush aside poor Portuguese sides. So I wouldn't on that either. Not sure about the Serie A guys transitioning to the PL either. It's another position where honestly there are probably good value players to be found. I mean look at James Justin or even Lamptey and how little they cost.

Yes on Barella but I doubt it is possible. Isco is done and doesn't suit our team anyway. Of all the PL guys I'd only look at Bissouma really. Not big on Kessie, Alberto is a weird player who we'd have to create a system for him to thrive in and Delaney is really older than what we need to be targeting in that position at this point. Camavinga isn't a punt, he's going to go to a top club for big money. But yes a great signing if we could.

I like Leao and Thuram. Unfortunately we shouldn't sign Thuram just because his style of play will have the entire fan base calling him lazy and I'm just not interested in that saga.

Buendia would be great. I'm hoping Norwich throw away promotion so they are in no place to demand big money.

I know he’s only part owned by Barca and I admittedly have no idea how the finances work but you’d assume with their financial crisis we could move for Emerson at RB

Some good shouts there. But to many strange ones. That wouldn’t improve us one bit. Some of the names would struggle to make our bench, never mind the team

I keep seeing all these shouts about Aarons, do people realize that Norwich want at least 40 million? From the articles I've read it's ironically due to Everton buying Godfrey and ensuring an economic cushion for Norwich. I'm not a scout or fantasy footballer but I'm sure more feasible options exist beyond the usual suspects.

barella to Lundstram in one paragraph... sure there are plenty in between..

I really wish we would drop this Lamptey love in... we would be so exposed it’s not even funny!
