i phoned up in the car after we beat chelsea 2-0 in the cup a few years ago. that chelsea fan was the host. I got through straight away, i was hammered (not driving obvs) said something about chelsea having no fans and he hung up on me immediately haha

I've just seen it for the first time...var even looked at it. If you ever needed any evidence that they were trying to ensure the title race stays close then that was it. I dont think they have resigned themselves that the other are going to struggle for 4th.

It’s a strange affliction their fan base have. I’ve seen quite a few of their fans reacting really badly to the fact that Gundogan scored against them. He’s a completely inoffensive player so the only reasoning can be that they’d started to get annoyed that his good form was garnering media attention. I’ve never particularly cared who scored against us as my overriding thought at any point is ‘ffs Everton’. Their immediate reaction is ‘even worse that it’s Gundogan’. It’s for the same reason they have an irrational hatred of Harry Kane even though he’s generally rubbish against them. They just don’t want any other player or team taking up media limelight and attention. They feed off it more than actually winning games. That’s why you have all this nonsense about Thiago’s idea balls, and their desperate attempts to disparage Richy for a while and now James this season. They just can’t stand the media praising anyone else but them.

We’ll see if Rodgers has any professional pride whatsoever next week. Whether he desires to be patted on the head by his former employers and the kopite media machine or whether he’s interested in getting top 4 for Leicester. If he rolls over for another 4-0 spanking by this shower then he’s an absolute fraud who doesn’t deserve CL football. Even a half decent Leicester performance would be enough to beat this lot and make a massive dent in their top 4 hopes.
