ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

I tell you one thing. they are blessed it happened last week, not this

It looks like the Matip injury has spurred FSG into decisive action.

In fairness, from the spot they got themselves in theyve done ok. Nothing massively committed, they can "get away" from said deals.

But the process leading up to it is bizarre. I would love to know who felt Joel Matip was the guy they could rely on to play 2 games per week regularly and not get injured?

Even I was saying in November, hes a 1 game every 2 weeks merchant, he needs lots of rest, and if they persist in playing, and rushing him back, he will break down. Well so it has proven. Complete, un utter stupidity from Klopp again, but also from the board for thinking he could do it.

He is finished. Hes the wrong side of 30 and has a horrendous injury record list. His body just cant cope with top level football.

They have a chance Gomes and VVD come back from their injuries. It's likely they come back lesser and different players. Both should be able to play though. I appreciate Gomes is also quite injury prone, so that caveat in, but Matip is a disaster.

As a final aside, they dont act this way if they are getting good news re Gomes/VVD. Dont expect them until next season earliest. Theyd be really really wise to take it out of Klopps hands as well, and tell him they need to be eased back, as opposed to letting him injure more players.

@GREATSONGS

Big week this week need City to win midweek then avoid defeat at least at Anfield, their record there is almost as bad as ours considering they've won titles and had loads of money. 2002 I think City last won at Anfield

The City Burnley game is massive. If City drop points then the pressure on them will be unbelievable and as sure as night follows day they’ll lose at Anfield and it’s all back on.

It was exactly how you called it. Klopp has admitted Matip played when injured and with fitness issues for the good of the team. He said wirh the injuries they had he had to put him in the side asap.

His body has proved time and time again that it can't cope with the rigours of the Premier League but it didn't stop them trying to completely break him.

You really would struggle to find anyone who wouldn't have seen this coming.
