Everton January transfer window 2021

Football fandom during transfer windows is truly an odd thing. We all get that shiny, new signings are exciting but panic signing someone for the sake of it is what has got us into this mess of a squad situation in the first place.

And to all the “KISS GOODBYE TO TOP 4 IF WE DON’T SIGN ANYONE” heads - Do you really think one signing makes us top 4 material? That performance on Saturday wouldn’t have been altered if we’d signed a new forward because the forwards barely got a sniff of the ball.

We’ve probably got the 8th or 9th best team in the league and we’ve overperformed in terms of results for most of the first half of the season. If we can have another summer window as productive as the last, we have a chance to take big strides forward. There’s never any value signings available in Jan. A forward on loan if we can get one worth the effort, otherwise swerve it.

Just why loan so many out if nobody is coming in that's the head scratcher. Will still hope till 11pm

Maybe we are just royally screwed financially and just simply have to balance the books for a few months.

I don’t know has anyone asked The Esk yet? We need a full on excel, power point analysis here of what’s going on, need full on graphical charts and pie charts etc.....

At this point I would be absolutely made up if we could recall Walcott, and he's utterly terrible and has been a disasterous signing for us. Thanks Marcel, legend lad.

Trouble is there is no point signing someone for the sake of it, done that for years and been stuck with the duds. We need proper quality and may need to wait for that till the summer.
This is the correct answer.

If you can't get your targets in January, you are better waiting until the summer. Bit of short term pain for long term gain is worth it when you are trying to build a squad over a number of windows rather than within 1 or 2.

Under Ancelotti, and given the state of the squad a few years back, it was always going to be a couple of summer windows to get the squad fully evolved.

That's all anyone is saying though a forward on loan.

Someone made the point earlier, that those we have loaned out have barely played, therefore it’s not like we have much to actually replace. Tosun got some minutes, embarrassingly, so I guess we might try to get a forward in on loan as cover, otherwise we go with what we’ve got.

We apparently have literally 13 players Carlo will use. We can't even use a full allotment of substitutes with that. Loans are a short term option that we won't need to be "stuck with" and there has been many players that have moved that would have been an improvement on what we apparently have.
