ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

This isn't even the best Liverpool team of the last 20 years mate, never mind all time.

It just goes to show how sub-standard the Premier League has become that they won the league by such a margin last season (that and the 'officiating').

They've been telling everyone this is their best team of all time.

United's worst team in the last 30 years is better than Liverpools best. That sums up both clubs.

The best front 3 in the history of all football have had the grand total of 7 shots on target in the last 3 games against West Brom, Newcastle and Southampton...

Man Utd won titles with defenders like John o Shea and Wes brown and with midfielders like kagawa and Tom cleverley

When I look at this current Man Utd side I see so much attacking talent with the likes of rashford, greenwood, martial and cavani and their midfield is stacked with some world class talent like Fernandes and pogba. They have solid players like mctominay, Fred, matic, mata and van de beek.

They have one of the best keepers in the league and the most expensive defender of all time. They have improved their wing backs by signing telles and wan bissaka.

To me with a squad of that quality they should be challenging for the title.

But for OShea and Brown see Luke Shaw.

A draw would be the logical best result for us and everybody else near the top. (let me just say that again: us...near the top.) However if United were to win and they lose that PL home record that they seem to care about so much, I think (hope?) it will have a bad effect on the them. The bubble has burst, they are not invincible at home etc....So on reflection I'm rooting for Man U. Reality will be that Man U have their worst performance of the season so far and for unknown reasons, roll over and die. The cult win easily. Ole looks like he might cry, Klopp patronises them for playing great and letting his team win.

Obviously there are some decent Scouse match going RS, that are relatively ok. I think with the RS is that they've been portrayed by the media as the best supporters in the world, so they constantly need to virtue signal how scouse they are and they're such big reds. How many times do you see some divvy wandering round the supermarket wearing RS regalia, saw some woman today wandering round with a RS scarf and hat.

Their contrived flag waving, stupid waiting for the team buses and even singing Munich songs at a wake to prove their RS credentials. Most of the RS on Merseyside have never been closer to Anfield with the exception of when their ma took them to Tuebrook market. Also the can't get tickets brigade never turned up when they were offering free childs tickets with any adult buying a ticket, they still couldn't fill their ground. When they were doing rubbish around 2015/2016 they were nowhere to be seen. We took 10 000 to Lille they only took half their allocation to Bordeaux.

They are the worst fans the league or the country by far, they haven't really struggled since the sixties, yet they talk about being loyal. At least United fans know a lot of their fans are glory hunters and acknowledge it, but they were still loyal in 70s and 80s when they were rubbish, same with some Chelsea fans and City fans. Also they aren't a crazy as Rangers and Celtic fans in terms of their atmosphere and their sheer devotion of their respective clubs. They are an establishment club, they aren't rebels of any kind as the like to portray themselves as.
Brilliant post. A whole generation brought up on nothing but success. The following generation brought up on tales of that success plus a team that kept ticking over with cups, European successes and the odd near miss in the league. As you say, I don't think they've been outside the top 8 since I was born (1965).

Imagine 5 or 10 years of top 8 being their best season and a couple of relegation scraps thrown in along with continually losing their best players.
They wouldn't sell out a match, the full kit kopites round town would disappear and the mouthy ones would suddenly be ''not really into footie'' any more.

When you think of levels. This is the worst United team in 30 years, and they are above the greatest Liverpool team of all time. Levels.

well no. It’s the best united team since 2013, so what you’re really saying is the 22nd best united team of the last 30 years is ahead of the greatest team of all time (Not just Liverpool)

Lol is it?

Most United fans were saying this was their worst team in 30 years 3 months ago. They made their worst start in decades. And their worsst team in decades is still better than Liverpools best team ever. Levels.
