No. Simply because for the money we couldn't buy better. And we haven't got a ready made Premier League experienced replacement.

That argument always drives me insane - especially when it comes from an Evertonian!

We spent less than £25m on all of Arteta, Baines, Jags, Cahill, Lescott, Coleman and Pienaar.

Theres a lot of footballers out there - potentially very good ones, who don't always command big fees.

Thats a big NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! from me as we need him more than the money he would bring in we can always sell Rodwell as he isnt as important to us as baines is plus hes unproven talent with a high price tag

Yeah but we bought them in at less inflated prices bet we could get them at the price we bought them if we bought them now

Would be a very sad day if we decided to sell Baines, but is he really worth 25m? In al reality, he just isn't. Would prefer to be able to keep hold of Baines, by offloading Rodwell for the same amount.

The minute we receive £25m for a player is the minute when every player worth £5m becomes £10m.

We know we have the real deal in Baines, I see no reason to lose a player of his quality to bring in, say, two players of half his quality, one of which would have to be a left back.

I would hate to see Baines leave but it is what it is. The only reason I'd hold out on selling him would be that once he takes over the England LB job from Cashley, the price will only go up.

Did Baines miss a minute of any match this season? Amazing he's been able to stay fit given Everton's injury curse.

You have to admit that if some club came by waving 25million for Baines, they'd be overpaying and it would be good business. Not popular business, but good business.

Very well said, Mr. Chig.

I agree that a whopping fee for Baines would be good business. But £25m in todays market isn't whopping business. £30-35m would make me happy, and it's reasonable given you'd be hard pushed to find a more in form and complete left back in European football.

We need money so desperately it's unreal but I wouldn't take £25m. It's a hell of a lot but not quite enough. Baines has been the only player who's been consistently class this year and we wouldn't have managed this year without him. However, if £30m was offered, I could be tempted but ONLY on the condition that we get Daniel Sturridge at the club. Also, if City are interested, I'd take a deal of Milner plus money. Maybe £10m would do with him as he'd sort out the left mid problem brilliantly. No less than £30m though. Rodwell's gotta go as well if anything over £15m is offered and it will be.

Even though he's a CM.
