Cheers mate. Only been here for about 6 months. We wanted something a bit different with a big garden and views. it's mainly open plan with vaulted ceilings, and a log burner was a must. The only problem with the log burner is it's one of those double sided ones so the kitchen can get a tad warm if we're cooking when we've got it on like now

This is very nice design. I’ve got a wood burner but it takes about 2-3 hours for it to warm the place up

Yeah you can't beat a real fire Sassy. I'm in England, I was born and brought up in Liverpool but moved out of the city about 20 years ago. It's horrible here where I live now, cold, grey, cloudy, rainy weather. it's 7°C here.
I love the smell of a good fire. We used to have one before but when we purchased our current house we settled for a pellet stove instead of a wood burning one but I miss it. I really enjoy sitting by the fire and looking at the flames.

I would love to visit England and Liverpool sometime in the future but I could never live there. Cloudy, rainy weather like that for a Colombian like me, or James, can be difficult. In the area of the US where we currently live we get an average of 212 sunny days per year (the US average is 205 sunny days) so while it can get very cold at times -12 or colder. The sun still shines and just make such a difference.

The problem with living in England is that it can be cold in the Summer!

Really, cold summers. No wonder why many English people travel to Spain for vacation. I read that a new Covid strain was brought back from Spain to the UK this summer from all the vacationers.
Came in lots of different ways. Rumours were it came into Edinburgh from a group of doctors going skiing in Italy. We’re a central hub of commerce and finance so tonnes of ways it came in.

It's a strange place to live in regards to the weather, sometimes the Summer can be absolutely boiling hot, the next year it can be rubbish. There is just no consistency with our weather through the seasons.
