Going to need him going forward now for at least few games. Hope he just shows the same attitude and performance tonight. Also stay fit.

Hope he can slot in and replace Allan the weekend if his injury is bad. Played well tonight, his ability was never in question in my eyes, it’s everything else. Maybe under Carlo he can see he has a role in the squad and that he’s important, you can even see this with Gylfi, older players don’t mind not playing every game as long as they can see the team doing well and them being used when needed. Shows a trust and a respect from manager to player and vice versa.

Unfair to judge him solely on last season and if he can keep a level of fitness he’d be a very decent option to have on the bench, certainly ahead of some other players and keeps the pressure off Gbamin to recover from his injury.

Where do we draw the line with this? They’re a Premier League side and had a front 4 that all of our fans were creaming themselves over last year and berating us for not signing.
If he can play like he did tonight against the likes of West Ham and other bottom half of the premier league sides he’s worth a place in the squad, I’m not going to go crazy and say he’s in the same class as Allan etc but looked good tonight. As for the west ham front 4 you were talking about I’m not that sure as I only ever saw Felipe Anderson as a decent player and he’s not exactly doing the business now.

Decent performance tonight; gives a good degree of control and then lays the ball off to more accomplished players ahead of him, i.e. James. This works when you have such talent ahead of him, the problem was last season we didn't have it and he needed to do more which I think was beyond him.

Pleased with his last couple of performances and at this rate I'd be happy if he stays.

Got to be the one to slot in for Allan on Saturday. The most like-for-like replacement and means we won't have to change the system that's been working so well for us.

Very good last night.

Really hope he's got another 90 in him for Saturday. Appreciate a Wednesday to Saturday turnaround against two PL sides is going to be really pushing it for someone who's just coming back from a horrific spate of injuries.

He wouldn't have played 90 odd games for Man City if he wasn't any good !!! Yes some of these were at left back but I have faith in his ability. The question mark will always be....Can he stay fit !!!
