I totally agree
I thought it didn't matter before, but there are 3 - 4 crucial things I'm looking for on the pitch
- keeping the energy & focus by being vocal
- making sure we keep fighting even if we re 1, 2 goals down (shouting, vocal again)
- communicating Carlo's instructions
- fighting for the decisions. I know that referees don't often overturn decision, but there HAS TO be an impact and a link between refereeing decisions and how they go in facour of the teams with big, famous personalities. Captains make relationships with referees, and get in their head and influence them. We shouldn't cheat, but we should stand up a bit more. That was one thing I liked about Rooney on his return season with us.
Somehow that passion of BIg Dunc's 3 games in charge needs to come from the captain.
