James Rodriguez (27) is to leave FC Bayern München after two years following the end of the loan deal with Real Madrid on 30 June 2019. The Colombia international asked the management at the German record champions not to take up the purchase option agreed with Real. FC Bayern concurred with that request.

On 11 July 2017, it was announced that James was loaned to Bayern Munich on a two-year long deal.[107][108] Bayern paid Real Madrid €13 million as a loan fee for the two season-long loan. With James' loan deal to Bayern, he reunited with his old Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti. Bayern had the option to buy James for €42 million at the end of the loan period.
So if I've got this right:
Bayern might have bought him last year, but James himself told them not to because he wanted to come to the mighty Ev in the summer o' 2020.

Don't Everton this please Marcel. Maybe Iwobi can go the other way if funds are genuinely an issue?
I think Real Madrid are probably good with not taking any player of ours aside from maybe Richarlison. And even then they've just spent a shedload on lots of young players in his positions.

I think the answer is probably Lukaku for most of us

Dont think Lukaku was that exciting though at the time, not to this level. Obviously he is a natural goalscorer and proved that with us, but when we took him on loan he was still a kid, all be it one who had had an excellent season with WBA.
