I disagree. We heard that speech when we went mental and signed Sigurdsson, Rooney, Klassen, Sandro, Vlasic and loads more (and we all know how that went!) but since then I don’t think anyone has really got excited with our transfer windows aside from the solitary signing of Richarlison mostly because of how expensive he was and how the media hated it.

if we were to sign James, Allan, Arias and one more CM then we have genuinely strengthened all of our weakest areas and will be a far far better team. Would obviously love a better GK and a 20+ season striker but it would be a massive step in the right direction...

We have to actually sign some players yet so I wont
James if he signs will proved a lot more quality and create a lot more, Richarlison will get 20+ this season if we get James,Allen and Dacoure(spelling)

I know he’s naturally a central attacking midfielder but Carlo often used him on the right and he’s effective from that flank, what are people’s thoughts? If he comes here what’s his main position going to be (assuming we get Allan and Doucourè)

If you look into his positions played over all of the time he's played under anchelotti, he's played him more as a number 10 which is what I think he'll be here. He'll be to slow to play the wing in the premier league.

Yeah, maybe, but in a 442 (if we stick with it) it would almost ‘force’ him to play on the right with the two holders in the middle as there isn’t a defined number 10 role in that formation. Perhaps more as a right forward rather than a typical speedy winger. His delivery is good and he’s partial to a banger. It wouldn’t surprise me if he was allowed to drift around so long as we get a new RB to cover and have faith in our new midfield to not crap themselves when we lose the ball.
In a 433 he could deffo operate in the midfield 3 as a CM/CAM but again, we would then need to get a ‘proper’ right winger for up top because Walcott doesn’t cut it. There’s a lot still to do, I’m very interested to see what the plan is after the window closes

I hope and expect we'll have a plan before October.
