No to Kante? Not that we’d even have a hope in hell of attracting him.

It’s all about opinions I know, but sometimes this forum leaves me puzzled.

We’ve been Everton’d. We now assume signing anyone is a bad idea regardless of how good they are lol

Clearly, as others have said, Kante won't be coming here.

But that's because he'd laugh his head off at the prospect of joining us given nearly every elite club will look at him.

In short: Kante will be the one turning us down. Not the other way round.

When I see Rashford, Foden and Kante mentioned here, it really hits home how some fans of other clubs can label Evertonians as being massively deluded divs.

yeah it happens, probably be well suited to a slower league now maybe, or at PSG where he can play domestic games at a canter as the opposition is mostly poor.

I think he would put the graft in to win the CL, but he's won everything else he wanted.

Im really not saying he's a bad player, he still has all the talent he had, but I just think hes lost what made him truly special and that was his heart and fight.

Kante is finished you absolute weapons. What is this 2016... his legs have gone and he’s an energy player who harries opposition teams.

I don't know much about his injuries so I can't really comment on whether his legs have gone or not.

But what I can say is that since Jorginho arrived, successive managers have played him in Kante's best position, with Kante being played further forward where he is nowhere near as effective. He's basically been sacrificed for the system of play preferred by the manager, including Frank Lampard it would seem, although it's possible it's been his injuries this season that have forced this on Frank.

But Kante has been the best player in the world in that role of defensive holding midfielder for about 5 years now. He is still only 29. His injuries this season are not, in my opinion, valid proof that his legs have gone, as you say. But there is a risk that his injuries mean that he is not the same player he was 18 months ago.

This should be reflected in his price, and if there is a chance that we can get him to come to Everton, then we should take it if the price is right because even an under par Kante could still easily be the best defensive midfielder in the country.

I do think this is somewhat moot given that, despite his legs being gone, there will still be a multitude of clubs more attractive than Everton in the market for him.

This is reasoning I can understand. I just think you were wrong to right him off. As I said, I think it's moot anyway as we would be so far down his list of suitors.

Not sure what the long term effects of the injuries are, but just getting his old position back could very easily rejuvenate him.

Yeah hes gone stale at Chelsea.

As I say he hasnt gone rubbish, I just feel as tho hes lost his spark. He could get it back the right move, but I can assure that isnt us. Even if we could.
