Usmanov

Moshiri and Usmanov will somehow have to pay about 25 million into the club per season while we have a reduced capacity to make up the shortfall and to pay additional wages for new players.

Plus, they will have to pay for the stadium themselves or the majority of it as I can't see any banks financing a deal to a club that spends over 100% of its turnover on wages.

Think this is the most important part of Brands' job to be honest. He gets so much stick about signings - but his major task at the moment is shipping out the dead-wood on big bucks asap - preferably BEFORE their contracts expire. Going to be very hard to do that though, precisely because of the silly money they're all on.

In terms of who he's brought in - we can argue all day about his success in recruitment, but other than Bernard, I don't think many of his signings have been put on the kind of stupid money that Walsh was throwing around.

He has the right idea. If we can somehow get Tosun, Sigurdsson and Bolasie off the books this summer - even on loan with a nice loan fee coming in, that will help. And if we can sign up and coming players who aren't on stupid peak wages that will serve to reduce the wages v turnover

I've left Walcott out there by the way - purposefully. I think he has a future under Ancelotti and will play quite a lot, and see out his contract. For me he's been much better in this new regime.

Still some other big wages though mate. Delph £80k a week, Mina £120k, Gomes £112k,

Oh - turns out it's not a new loan by the way. It's a new £60m overdraft facility after our previous one expired over a year ago.

I would take a middling view of this overdraft. I don't think it's automatically evidence of a mssive spending splurge but also I'm not sure it indicates any worse money problems than we would already be aware of.

Every club is going to have cash flow difficulties. There is very little income coming in through the summer months, I have no idea what the sponsorships will be doing (though some of our existing sponsors may be reducing/witholding money) and Sky/other broadcasters have also downgraded payments. It creates a cash pinch point.

A loan overdraft is quite a good way to get around this. Depending on the terms of the overdraft it's relatively flexible, and shows the bank have some faith in us being able to repay. There will be clubs who are paying enormous interest on loans due to help them through this period.

Apparently MIna is 120k which does seem very high.

Yeah just seen - on Spotrac. I've no idea how accurate that is to be honest, but they seems far in excess of his value and his reputation. If we're paying him that then that's a big mistake - as much as I actually rate him.

Trawling through the web a lot of other sites are reporting the same figures mate.

Yep - found it after you said. Cheers.
I've no idea if that's accurate or not but just feels high to me. What I would say is that they've listed a player on there who left us in 2017 (Anton Donkor) - so I'd be hesitant in taking it as gospel

“He’s already here”.

He’s not at all he’s literally just Moshiri mate who will help if asked.

Our fans doing that thing again where we pin our hopes on something that’s not real or unfair because we are starved of anything tangible.

No matter how many millions you have in the bank, no way does anyone just give away millions of pounds to someone just because it’s “their mate.”

What’s happening with the ownership and more importantly why it’s happening, other than the people involved, nobody knows.

No they don’t, but Moshiri clearly asked for help with USM sponsorship and Usmanov assisted.

He himself has said Moshiri only needs to ask and he will assist.

I wonder when the time will come when Moshiri needs more than just a helping hand....

I think it’s more likely that it’s the opposite and it’s Uncle Ussi (USM) telling the so called owner what to do?
