ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

It probably wasn't your intention but I think it is wrong and dangerous to equate BAME footballers with a higher risk of a serious outcome from COVID-19. There is no known genetic susceptibility that means people from a BAME background have a worse outcome.

It is far simpler than that. BAME people have a worse outcome because of their socioeconomic status. Once you take out deprivation and underlying medical conditions that are often caused by deprivation then the playing field is levelled.

This isn't about the BAME population needing to be protected from football it is about the BAME population being protected from austerity and deprivation.

Thats simply not backed up by the findings I'm afraid. There's a theory it's down to Socio-economic status, but that doesn't explain it all. Theres certainly no evidence to say being BAME isn't a risk factor, in fact quite the opposite. So if the PL or any club want to show their support for racism, preventing contact football restarting for BAME players would be a good start.

Yet another reason to hope the season gets voided. This RS whopper has spent hundreds of £s "decorating" the front of his house with tat. Feel sorry for the neighbours.

What man in his mid 30s would do this and then predict a score and scorers? Everyone's taking pictures of the house because their laughing at him. He mentions the Everton supporting neighbour, so we clearly know he's done this because he's bitter and obsessed with the blues rather than thinking it'll cheer people up.

Three grammatical errors in this single sentence. What kind of paper is this?

"The rival club's will face off at Goodison, behind closed doors, but fans will be able to watch for free."

I clicked through to the Chester Zoo article and it says the zoo faced an "Exponential threat".

You mean existential you cretins.

I'll never forget reading an Echo article which discussed how Seamus Coleman was a great left back.

He'd only been at the club 8/9 years at the time

Was it written by the Echo's answer to Ernest Hemingway and six times (six times! six times!) journalist of the year? Aldo is not bound to the grammar of mere mortals!

I honestly wonder if fans of other clubs behave like this but we don't see it as it is local 'news'. I mean how often would a Man Utd fan have had to do this through the 90's and 00's, or Chelsea, Arsenal, Man City more recently?

Beggars belief that adults behave in this way, does anyone know is it just them?

It's not just for their enjoyment they do it to get a reaction. Bet he sits outside all day and as soon as someone doesn't tell him ""that's boss lad" he's straight onto his mates saying "boss Lar, just wound up a load of bitters, proper fuming they were lad"

Saw facebook photos of some wool taking a replica of the European Cup into town last year with him saying "Evertonians this is a European Cup" , he even has it in his back garden, probably even kips with it. Fanta scruff syndrome.

They are just weirdos who always want to be the centre of attention and make everyone "fume".

My point is that it's just to wind up little old Everton who they aren't bothered about in any way at all...

See the 2 kids are wisely keeping away from him
