ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

Whip round for the reds transfer kitty for next season :hayee:

I mean they are half right. Their loss of gate receipt income will be massive. On top of that factor in merchandise down, sponsorship down (or possibly gone)and they are in a big hole.

As for his proposal, in all honesty most of their fans are just not that committed. They don't have 1 million real fans anyway. A lot of the hanger on's are from countries where 9 quid a month would be a massive sum of money and wont be paid. For the southern wealthier reds, once it hits the fan they will just bulk and go back to rugby again. Even their loyaler local fans, almost all of them are telling him to sling it. IN fact not a single one said it's a good idea, lets go for it.

They seem to have this bizarre view that they are in a great financial situation. It's almost like all the propaganda they've been filling their heads with means they can't compute the truth when it's staring them in the eyes. Brilliant if you ask me, and I genuinely hope the calls for FSG to put back in the money they've taken out get amplified. This is how it all started with H & G.

The truth is, FSG have not taken any money out, yet. They will be now though, to help cover their own risk on the debt and also help them stabilise in America. If their fans are already happy with FSG, then they won't like whats to come.

Incredible that the world , European and probably soon to be English champions feel the need to have the fans top up the club's wage bill.

How many clubs are in danger of going under in current climate but they need money?

They probably won't miss the ticket sales in all honesty. It's a money loss but not as big a hit as some realise, we are probably the same.

And another point. Why aren't they questioning how klopp has them dominating the world essentially and yet being told they have no money because of all of this? They should be demanding the best players to sign , not worry they aren't going to sign anyone.

Call back to the net spend arguments from them

The club spends no money essentially but fans don't question it. If they don't have a 100 million player spare to sell they don't buy anyone.

I'd personally ask questions about us in that scenario they are in.

I'd be ringing alarm bells if it were us, with that ownership. The net spend fiction is exactly this. They report highest sales and lowest spend, pay agents massively etc to make it look like they are making lots of money. Essentially they are not. Look at the last accounts, £100+m on "other expenses" and a large portion of this is favourable agents fees etc. Then look at their transfer due in and about, there is a £60m gap for 2019 alone. Yet there net spend guff tells us they spend no money.

Essentially they game the system to look more profitable. The problem is, their fans are sheep and lap it all up, so then get very angry where their very simplistic, without nuance world view gets challenged toys go massively out of the pram.

Where they will (hopefully) hurt is on player trading moving forward as they’ll be squeezed at both ends. Their south coast kopite brethren (Bournemouth Southampton and Brighton) won’t suddenly be finding these annual 15 mill pots of money to spend on the players Liverpool don’t want any more. In a normal window you could guarantee one of those clubs would come in massively over market value for a player like Curtis Jones or Chirivella. At the other end they are unlikely to attract bids from big clubs way above their market value. I can’t see Madrid or Barcelona coming in with the 150 mill plus bids that the Kopites were mooting for Mane or Salah now. That type of cash isn’t in the game and if a club could find it they’re not going to spend it on 28 years olds. The third leg of their transfer approach (manipulating their dubious relationship with Roma’s owners to take their best players) could still be viable as Roma will be looking to sell but without the funds from the first two sources, will they have the cash to put down big bids for players like Zaniolo or Werner without selling one of their first team stars?

It may sound silly but the position they are in, as a fan I'd demand the likes of Mbappe , haaland etc. They aren't some up coming club anymore, they are THE club to be , so ambition would be to sign the very best.

Anything less than the best is massively underplaying their current scenario. They could be a force for years if they signed the best players now. And the best players would sign for them right now as well, their stock will never be higher.

Minamoto and that lad from Fulham represent their transfer activity following winning the champions League..........

not to mention the boss academy they have that won a few games in the cup after being routed by villa.....

the less they send the better for me. It just means one day we can point out the time they were kings of the world and their owners sold them down the river for their own interests. A half arsed transfer policy relying on their current players to maintain the same performance and results year after year.
