it’s funny how for nearly a decade all we ever heard from the lot was ‘net spend’‘those oil clubs’ ‘financial doping’ ‘we need FFP’ ‘We’ve grown organically’ ‘money ball’ etc.Yet as soon as they lost a load of finals in a row and splashed out world record fees on a whole new spine for their team and spent more money in a calendar year than anyone in the history of football we haven’t heard the words ‘net spend’ in any media outlet for the best part of 2 years.
