You can cancel all public events or whatever but those events are having very little impact in the spread of the virus compared to, say, public transport. Which you can't just shut down with ease can you.

Unless you know where someone has contracted it not sure where your evidence is to support this.

As you say its here now and will spread regardless - we just have to hope a Vaccine is found sharpish.

They have a vaccine already, I think, just no human trials till end of the year (I could have dreamt this).

To be honest Johnson is useless but the other 2 the chief medical officer and chief scientific officer do seem to know their stuff. Time will tell if they are right or other countries are right. Not closing schools because most will be looked after by grandparents. All about protecting the elderly. Saying peak will be in about 14 weeks.this all seems about delay so that the NHS is not swamped like in italy. Self isolate as a family for 7 days as it will clear within 5 days. Most will be ok then. For some it will enter a new phase after those 5 days and they should then contact 111 and seek further medical help. Hopefully stop a lot of people swapping the nhs and leave it for elderly people with chronic problems

Really hard to accept the reality when the stats are that this virus has been around for weeks if not months yet out of 65 million+ peeps in the country less than 6 hundred have been confirmed. What's happening now seems about right so possibly not yet the right time to cancel the football. Sorry if that sounds callous.

Think the number of people who have already had is is a lot more than the official figures. Even they have just said that. They are not even going to record how many cases just the one that go to hospital now. I had a cough about 3 weeks ago just wondering if I have had it
