Former Everton Centre Forward Duncan Ferguson steps into management.....

VANARAMA NATIONAL LEAGUE PLAY-OFF FIRST ROUND

BLACKPOOL RESULT.webp

A subdued affair in this play-off first round game between two rivals. Blackpool were the side to advance to the next round and it was only the one goal that separated the teams. Clinical finisher Paul Townsend got his 18th of the season with a close range tap in. Fylde came out with an attacking style of football but struggled to get into the game although having 6 shots on target opposed to Blackpool's 4. It was a game to forget for The Coasters and many fans proclaim the players didn't seem to care.

DF: That's it, that's the season over. It's disappointing to go out like this, we didn't bother to show anything on the pitch today and I'll be sure to the let the players know exactly what I think. We have a big summer now and I've got time to get this team back into winning ways and move on any players who aren't fighting for the same cause. I know this squad very well and I know what I need to improve. It's hard with a small budget to work under but I've brought quality here in the past and can do it again.

Many fans believe Fylde need a new direction and are becoming doubtful Duncan Ferguson can get The Coasters back into League Two. After a season of disappointing results, it is going to take an overhaul to get this team matching the fans ambition.

Why? Is there some gossip? Spill the beans!

Big Dunc chinned Griffiths and O'Neill after the match. Stopped the coach, dragged them out, chinned them, stripped them and made them walk the rest of the way.

They ain't been seen since.

I'm still locked in the coach bogs as well. Been stationary for about 4 hours so I'm assuming I'm at the club carpark if someone can come and get me.

A season that promised so much
Gave us so little
It ain't that we are spoiled
Or that we are fickle
All we want is what we give
Our football club is why we live
And breathe the Coasters in our hearts
And let loose with sweaty farts
And as the day soon draws to night
Jimmy and Terry still covered in shyte
Tomorrow brings another day
And a chance to start again
So sing your heart out for the lads
Through Sun
Through wind
Through Rain

The end

I didn't cry when Bambi's mum got shot.

But I'm crying now.
