They tried to bully us second half we were having none of it. Well played by the defence all of them. great face save by pickford. Good early season win. I thought gomes was excellent defensively today as well.

Big win.

We're clearly miles off what we can be, but there were clear signs in the first half that we're a proper side when we're confident and our players are fit. We have the striker now, finally, too.

A good team would have punished us (thankfully Watford are anything but), but that's why it's possibly great that we've lucked out a bit with the lack of top 6 opponents early on. Hopefully we can nick wins against the weaker sides while we're getting ourselves sorted and then be a bit more of a cohesive unit when we're tested more severely.

First 30mins was good.
Back 4 plus Pickford played well. Mina has been brilliant so far this season. Special mention for Bernard for the goal and some excellent play but the rest have a level or 5 to go up which is both worrying and encouraging. Kean showed some quality when he came on.

First 30 minutes we looked fantastic, rest of the game we looked pretty poor, guess we still have a long way to go with fitness and Marco needs to be more proactive with making changes earlier than later. 2 clean sheets and a draw away and win at home so can't complain about the start of the season

Don't think 'poor' is fair. Watford basically just made it a naff game but we held them at arm's length bar that one chance, which came from Richarlison's mistake.

Our game management was good in the second half. Kean was unlucky not to seal it - though his movement will have to get better (that's not a criticism!).

Gbamin, Bernard, Coleman, Digne, Gomes, Mina, Keane - all played really well. Gylfi got a lot more involved in the first half but couldn't get into the game in the second, until late on when he calmed it down brilliantly.

Rich was the main let down. He looks leggy, yet if one of those headers go in we win this easy. One of those days.

Hopefully Digne's injury not too bad. We really missed him when he went off.

Happy with the 3 points. Though we did make hard work of it. Gomes hands down was motm.
Richarlison was off it. Bernard did well. Hope Kean either starts or gets more game time next match.

3 pts is all that matters anything less today would have been hard to take. Pickford and the back four excellent, good workrate from midfield and the 2 strikers held the ball up brilliantly. Coleman edges Motm for me from Keane/Pickford/Mina.

Big Mick and Yerry were rock solid again, even with the defensive reshuffle late on. You wouldn’t have thought Gomes had been injured last week either, immense performance. Not concerned with Richy just yet, could be just shaking off some rust after playing over the summer. Will be the last we see of DCL up front for a while methinks, Moise done more in 15-20 mins than Dom did in 70
