Obviously some people are going over the top but there's a big middle ground that a lot of people are in which is being ignored. I'm happy with the business we've done aswell (as far as I can be, I've never seen our two big signings play a full game of football) but I don't think we've done enough. We're not going down, this isn't a disaster, it hasn't been an awful window, but If nothing else happens then I think we've stood still, and we're standing still from 8th. Sorry that i'm not ecstatic about that.

I'm not ecstatic about it either. But I prefer to look at the positives and realistically its been a decent window if not exceptional.

Nothing wrong with being in the middle ground but some peoples dramatic negative reactions do genuinely make me laugh, theres a lot more to be positive about now than there was 2/3 seasons ago without doubt

Confirmed we offered. Confirmed Zaha wanted out. Even pretty much confirms Zaha feels like he was screwed over by Palace.

My problem is not that we didn't do the Zaha deal at £80m+. It's that we've not had an option lined up.
We always knew how hard it was going to be to get a deal done, we all knew what a huge asking fee they had.

Im very happy we’ve aimed high and tried to bring him in but we needed to have several other quality options to pull the trigger on in the likely scenario this happened.

So there you have it...

Player wanted to leave but Everton couldn’t or didn’t want to match the fee Palace wanted.

Looks like Brands has come unstuck on this one I’m afraid.

Question is... do we have a b option... if not... why not?
Not sure Brands came unstuck. More that we as a club didnt want to pay £80m up front (or the bulk of it).
The plan B bit......yep, I agree.

We have a strong first 11. If we are lucky with injuries we will have a good season. 1 or 2 injuries could really affect us though. I imagine our starting side to be Pickford, Digne, Mina, Keane, Coleman, Gomes, Gbamin (or delph), Sig, Bernard, Richarlison, Kean. That is a good side. Like I say though an injury or two and we may struggle.
A good season for us right now is maintaining 8th with this squad.

Don't understand why we never just went for a real top CB like Jonathan Tah of Leverkusen or Matthias Ginter of Gladbach as soon as we knew Zouma was'nt coming back. This Rojo thing is just bonkers, we really don't need anymore Man U cast offs, have we not moved on from those days.

As for Zaha, i don't get why we have left a deal like this so late in the window to try and complete, and knowing it would possibly be awkward to have no alternative either, id expect this from Walsh not from Brands. But hey there is still an hour left so who knows.
