It was about being disappointed if it ends up with just Rojo and I was saying that is understandable considering yesterday we were bidding 70mil for an exciting forward which is a first, and exciting. He's 29, he's injury prone, barely kicked a ball in 2 years and his club have just paid 80m for a centre half to relegate him to 6th choice.

All considered, £25m would be insane no matter how much of a panic the club will be in for a centre half

To be clear I don’t disagree with any of that. I wouldn’t want him on a free, but I just think grumbling about fees is crazy given the amounts flying around in this window.

Not seriously. The part about this being in the top 5 windows of the last 15 years is serious though. And it’s not finished.

We signed one of the worlds most heralded young forwards, bought a couple of midfielders, made another permanent, got the squad size down.

Not signing Zaha doesn’t make this a terrible window.

Signing Rojo as cover doesn’t make it a terrible window.

Agreed, but it is a disappointing day as was mentioned. And that disappointment should not make someone question why they support Everton as you suggested.

Absolutely. I’d probably do a comparable job to Rojo at this stage, but fees reflect supply and demand - We’re desperate for a CB so anyone from whom we propose to buy one was bound to pull our kecks down. It should come as no surprise whatsoever.
